Vaen was walking around Minoc Felucca, getting a sense of his hometown once again, and making sure that the city was safe. The Legion did, afterall, protect the city.
Walking around and seeing kids running around in the streets playfighting with wooden swords, he smiled to himself, thinking back to his childhood when he and Marcus used to do such. His mind drifted further, and he began remembering when Marcus killed his fiancee, Angel, a while ago. The smile soon faded away, and even one with poor vision could see the expression of anger on Vaen's face.
"Is something the matter, boy?" an old lady asked.
Vaen turned to her, the expression being removed from his face immediately. "No, no. Nothing, m'lady." Vaen smiled. Although it was an empty smile, it was enough for the old lady to believe nothing was wrong.
"Very well my dear. We don't need anger-driven people around here!" the old lady said as she slowly walked off.
Vaen chuckled to himself, and sighed. He then walked over to the bank, looking around. He spotted an area that looked all too familiar to him. The east side of the bank was where he and Marcus fought years ago. That is where he killed Marcus, who later was magically ressurected, and joined the ranks of the Ebon Skull. That is where all of this started. Vaen sighed. "I didn't want to do it, Marcus. You were my best friend."
Vaen held back tears as he walked around, remembering moments from his childhood when he and his best friend Marcus would be up to no good, or would be playfighting with wooden swords around the town. He walked over to the captain of the guards of Minoc to check in and make sure everything was going well. Vaen got a confident nod, and Vaen nodded in return, glad to know that things are safe.
Walking a bit more, Vaen moved up to the warriors guild, where Vaen and Marcus spent most of their time listening on the stories of warriors as they were kids. They always wanted to be those warriors. They wanted to be fighting. But at that time, they never knew that they would later on be fighting eachother. _________________
