Tarothin sits in his study with one of his hands before him, intently gazing upon it. The change this time seems to be perminant. His hands still are more claws then that of his normal hand. Never before has it ever since infusing the Daemon within over a year ago, has he not been able to revert fully to his normal self. Taking a quick glance towards the steel mirror only confirmed that his eyes still held a very slight red tint to the once crystal blue eyes. He did not need to look at his feet to see that they too changed to a degree like the hands. He could feel his boots to be much tighter, and his...nails to be scraping up against their fronts.
"Why is this happenig to me, when ever since accepting that what I have become, was allowed to control my form?"
"If this becomes worse...it may ruin my plans."
It must be because he was putting aside his anger and his hatred...keeping it within and letting it build up...that causes the change, so he thought. But I must keep it in. I must accomplish the goals I seek. And that would be utter failure if I choose to be the daemon I was before...
He slowly put on his gloves. Looking at his gloved hands awhile before looking away.
"Rufus has spurned away my offer. Even after I told him in front of all that I will be wiling to serve someone, which to me, is of no simple matter. He turned away something more genuine then he thought, and dismissed it because of one simple thing. Not because of what he may have thought was right, but because of thinking what others would." The anger continues to swell inside him. Realizing this and the tightning of his gloves, boots and cloths...he tried to put it out of his mind and calm down.
After a few minutes he opened his eyes and looked at the maps in front of him with the chess pieces.
"No matter. We will hold our course and once again try. Either way, of being within or not, it matters not. The goals I seek will be hindered not by this...for now that is...It would have been better for them if indeed we were accepted, but not hindered."
"There are still very many to speak to. Many indeed."
With this he takes out some paper, his quill and ink and starts to write. |

Many days and evenings her husband had spent alone in his study. Going over plans to help bring Order to the realm....Order....
The word didn't fit well on her lips. She'd never been opposed to the ideals of Order, but had only thought it boring when Chaos was at the pinnacle of fun. But now, here she was, supporting her husband in his plans. Her mind was set upon his visions of what Order could bring to the world in the long run....the future. Another thing she wasn't accustomed to. Planning for the future. She was more concerned with the here and now. Seeing things as they were and weaving her spirit around that. A creature of whim & emotion rather than well thought out stoic action.
Though the Regency had turned down Tarothin's offer of support, she knew he'd adapt, learn, and press on with his goals.
His goals were important to him, and so, thus, were important to her as well. There was one thing in his goals that was the most important to her. Tarothin himself.
On her way from the bedchamber to start her day, Ditto paused outside her husband's study door and tilted her head to listen. He was there, just inside. Planning..thinking..and something more.
Her soul felt the rumblings of the daemon within him. Just beneath the surface. Just behind his eyes. She hadn't been oblivous to the fact that for many days now, Tarothin hadn't been able to completly come into his human form. She was more aware of that man than she was of her own breath whenever he was near. How could he think he could hide it from her? Why would he even try? She'd accepted the daemon long before she ever made her vows. At the wedding of Ivae and Nazralte, when she held his hand, reminding him silently where her heart was, she thought she'd made it clear then that he had no need to hide this from her. As she was about to put her hand on the door, a sudden thought struck her. Who was he really trying to keep his condition from? Her? or..himself?
Ditto pushed her way into his study, and paused just inside waiting to see if he'd welcome her intrusion.
Tarothin turned his head her way and smiled. "Hello love".
"Hiya cuteness". She returned the smile as she walked over to stand behind him as he sat in his chair. " I just came ta spend a minute with ya", then grinned when she added, "Nothin too important".
He nodded and turned back to the papers on his desk. Ditto could see he was in his "business" frame of mind and would not welcome a dalliance at the moment, so she only wrapped her arms around his neck and peered from behind his head to glance over the papers. Yes, these were indeed pressing matters that needed his full attention and so she decided she would not try to change his mood.
With a slight pout, she brushed her lips against his neck and rested her head against the back of his.
She didn't know what his new condition meant exactly, nor what it might mean in the future. She only knew she loved him and would take each day as it came. Being with him always....
