Standing in the middle of the room, her face was clear that she was thinking hard about something. Taking a deep breath Aulbrey moved towards the door. Though many different paths had led here there was one constant similarity in them all.


I was a stepping stone Aulbrey thought to herself this she was sure about. Her life was a mixture of drunken memories both real and imagined but tonight she was seeing what was there all along. Her life was filled with meaningless events one mistake after another and there was no turning it around


Aulbrey lifted the sharpened blade as she stared back at the reflection in the polished metal. Was this really who I had become she thought to herself. Pointing the blade away from her then turning it aiming for her own heart she whispered a single phrase… I know my place and it’s not here


the blade slowly came into contact with her flesh, she fell backwards slowly as if time had stood still in that moment. what seemed like a eternity only really lasted a few seconds
now lying in a pool of her own blood unconscious in the middle of the lush house. silent echoes filled the air her mind slowly flashed faded memories of her past. soon silence was all that existed for her.

Her eyes shot open and a scream escaped her mouth. Aulbrey sat up checking her surroundings, there she was laying next to the vat of her new experimental drink. She quickly patted her own body searching for the blade only to relize she must of been dreaming. She slowly stood up only to fall down again, what the hell did i put in that last batch she thought to herself. Again she tried to stand only this time she braced herself with the shelving next to her. Turning around at the table to her right aulbrey began to look at the ingredients layed out before her. she giggled a little and tossed the nightmare meat in the trash i wont be needing that anymore.



Tapping her chin and looking at the many possible combinations aulbrey began mixing a new batch to try in hopes that this next try would be a little more to her liking. She worked long into the night carefully measuring and taking notes soon the vat was filled with a new mixture. she smiled slightly and went off to continue counting her bottles soon she was fast asleep behind the bar. Her eyes began to twitch as a new dream began to form in her mind.
