It all happened too quickly. The only hint there was before it happened was the influx of visitors to the Island the previous few days.
It was something they had hoped had disappeared years ago. An all too frightening and familiar emblem on the soldiers armor was seen.
Years past they were left alone as long as they kept their presence a secret there. But this time they were not spared the same fate.
This time they marched to occupy the town.
They came fast from the northern part of the Island. Those that ran or resisted were killed. The people of Occlo only had one option before the force. To submit.
They had lined up random people on the docks and killed them to set an example to any that dare oppose them. In the night sky all one can hear is the wailing of mourners, the crackling of fire and the stomping of the soldiers mounts.
A banner was placed near the Docks of the town.
A black banner with a Blue and Black Shield with a grotesque demons face on it and two blue swords criss-crossed behind it.
They have appeared once again. The Dark Order have invaded Occlo. |

"Ride out!"
The order had been given by her father. Imryrr's colorless eyes hard on the target in front of her. The town of Ocllo.
They had once possessed this place before. It had been a second home for the Dark Order. A place with open fields and plenty of riding room in the woods. It was a good area to train, and it would be once again. Ocllo was profitable in the past, though meagerly so, and had been enough to prove worthy of reoccupation.
The dark unit seperated to attend their ordered missions. Imryrr's was to search out any that might try to flee and hide. Those that resisted, would be killed. To her, the mere act of fleeing was resistance enough, and when she saw the elderly man running from the back of the mage's center she held up her kryss and rerouted her mount in his direction. The toddler he was cradling clung to his shoulders desperately. "Halt!" Imryrr shouted out, but the old man only ran faster. Shaking her head in dissapointment, she headed the man off, blocking his escape. The child's eyes wide with fear and confusion. It was those eyes Imryrr looked into briefly before swinging her kryss across the elder's throat. The child dropped slowly to the ground with it's grandfather's body and sat crying in a gathering pool of blood.
No mercy.
Pounded on the side suddenly, Imryrr came face to face with a large, strong man who had leapt up on her mount. Her kryss stuck in his belly. Though impaled, he showed anger and courage. This one could make for a good soldier, were her thoughts. Struggling to stay him off and remain on her mount, she spoke through gritted teeth. His face mere inches from her own. "Do you wish to live?"
He seemed oblivious to the kryss in his stomach. "You killed my father!"
With a loud growl, she gave a hard twist the blade, rendering his insides useless. She watched as the blood trickled from his mouth. Her own turning up into a dark smile. With her shoulder, she shoved the man off of her mount and glanced around for any more that might try to attack her. She only saw a woman rushing to pick up the crying toddler. Looking further out, Imryrr spotted her father receiving a similiar welcome from a makeshift guardsman and her smile widened. She wondered if there would be anyone in town left alive. But, Tarothin dispatched of the man quickly, and showed no signs of the beast about him that she could see. He gave the order to bring the captives to the docks.
They were going to let them live. Tarothin had decided to deal with them harshly, but they would've had their lives at least. They were too afraid to even look at him when he spoke to them. Afraid of what they might see if they dared look at the man that was known to be a daemon. Imryrr was disgusted by their cowardice. All that crying. And even had the nerve to keep their backs to her father as he spoke. This did not go unpunished. Her brothers saw to that.
Later that evening, Imryrr gathered with her brothers Juks, Enoch, and Reever in the middle of the town to discuss what was to be done before they could retire for the evening. Postings of the Dark Order laws were already being seen to. The citizens were being assessed for loyalty or weakness. Homes were being checked.
Several things yet to do before they could rest. But it would be a dissapointing rest for Imryrr. She needed none. What she needed, craved, was a good battle. Ocllo had not provided that, nor had she expected to. The taking of the small port town was just a necessary mechanism for the future. A future that was full of promises of blood, battle, and glory. Yes, Ocllo was too easy. Too full of peasants. No warriors. No defense. Soon....it would not be so easy. _________________ = Imryrr Armunn =

He felt another gust of icy cold blast of wind hit his face as he stood on the ramparts of his keep. It didn't phase him in the slightest.
Not one soul appeared in Occlo since the invasion. It was the right timing after all since everyone’s eyes are focused on the Atalans. It allows him to do as he pleases. Though he hasn't heard any reports concerning the Atalans recently. That can be of some concern. The Dark Order is growing weekly yet still numbers much less than what he wished. I need the Atalans to keep the light bringers eyes busy still. Perhaps a play can be staged so as for that to continue.
Even though Occlo isn't necessary to his plans. It does provide a good staging ground.
"Another move on the chess board is in order" he murmured as another blast of icy wind hit him.
It started to snow again as he walked the length of the ramparts to enter inside the keep. |
