An official courier delivers a sealed letter to the residence of the Commander of the Watch, Lord Bleys:

"Esteemed Commander,

Seeing how trade continues uninterrupted land-wise, and Yew's wealth increases as a result, I can only attribute the success to you and your soldiers keeping our caravans safe despite the riots plaguing the cities of the realm. I will bring this to the attention of His Majesty, King Sid, when we meet next. I am certain he will grant a boon to you and your champions.

On another note, I have been given an assignment by His Majesty which I know your specialized talents shall commend itself, and perhaps even be to your personal liking. The King has taken note of a group of individuals in Yew who seem to be organized. While they seem to pose no threat to security, and apparently have no connection to the Heartwood elves, the King wants them watched nonetheless. It is my wish that you and your unit fulfill this wish of his and report all findings to me. For the moment, there is no cause to be disruptive of their operations and activities. Simply keep an eye on them. There is one who claims the office of Mayor of Yew, named Janel Bloodrayne. If you find her, you will find the others sooner or later.

Should they prove to be more than what they seem to be, I am sure you and our other allies will settle accounts nicely, if the King wills it. For my part, I am content for the moment to conduct operations which will continue to endear me to the populace so that our trade activities will not be impeded by a few malcontents, however violent.

Perhaps you can attend our meeting tomorrow night at the castle? It would be good to see and speak face to face with you again.
