This has nothing to do with UO but I am at work and just got a phone call from a woman who was being scammed. I have had at least three of these calls in the last few months and it makes me sick.

There are scammers out there targeting single woman on Facebook and other social media sites. A man tells her he is in the military and he is stationed over seas. This one said he was in nigeria. He gets to know the woman , sends her pictures of him in his uniform. ( he steals these from real soldier's profiles) Then he starts calling her. After he has her totally sucked in , she receives an email from a General. The letter tells her "her soldiers" assets have been frozen and he needs her to send $1500.00 to get his plane ticket home.

The scammer has already asked for a copy of her driver's license and her address. ( in case something would happen to him, they would know to contact her)

Military people know this is a scam. Civilians who have never been exposed to any military don't know that they would NEVER get an email from a General. They don't know that Soldiers are stationed and move according the orders from the military NOT money.

Please let anyone you know who dates Online about this scam.
The first lady who called me had already sent $1500.00. Luckily the lady today had a gut feeling something was wrong and didn't send money, she called my office instead.
Pass it on please. Don't let another single woman get scammed by some gutless loser using the Soldiers of our military.
