Just a couple of days? HAHAHAHA. If it's anything like the other, you'll be out for at least a month, and that's with out sleeping. _________________ Malorn ‎(12:14 AM):

Loving this game. So far, I think I like it more than DA:O, which I loved too. I feel like I've barely scratched the surface and I'm already over 8 hours in, just doing a boatload of quests. Graphics are better, combat is actually fun this game, in my opinion, and I'm liking most of the characters so far (hated Leliana, Zevran, and Sten in the first one), except Aveline, I mislike her, or him, whatever it is. It's very nasty to look at and listen to, either way. She'll be warming the bench whenever I don't actually need her in my party.
Oh, and I love how they incorporated some mechanics from Mass Effect into this one. I love that the main character has a voice but you can still customize him/her (which also affects how your family looks too, which is pretty cool). The dialogue wheel is fantastic too; I didn't really like just having a list of things to say in DA:O with some that didn't seem to make much of a difference. The main menu in the game is even just like Mass Effect's as well.
All in all, this is just like DA:O I think, but better. So far, anyway. I can't say for sure until I've beaten it, which will be many, many hours from now. |

Well, I just finished my first play-through on normal difficulty with a mage (just over 30 hours, completed the majority of the side-quests, but not all of them), and I have to say I agree with Ekoth's overall assessment. I've heard grumbling that the storyline is "too typical", or something like that—I stay away from reviews—but that criticism can be just as easily leveled at Origins. The smaller parts are what make the game, and they're all here. I'm not going to spoil anything by saying much more than that. All in all, it's a worthy buy. I'd say go for it, and keep one of your Origins saves handy. It doesn't affect much, but it might be nice to hear about your old character.
Started a second play-through as a rogue (second-favorite class) on hard. The ogre was a b-word of a problem, but nothing that running around like jackasses picking off his buddies couldn't solve. Eventually. _________________ a.k.a., Killian Ond, Oliver Dunham, Iorwerth (ap Gruffydd), Husam (ibn) Sadid, Ortinlem |
