On Sunday the 6th of March at 7pm EST Magincia and The Vampiric Order will be doing a battle. We ask that there be no spectators but I did want to present the format to everyone and get feedback from the community on a new idea for pvp.
RP Behind the PVP
(Phase 1 of RP)
For some time now the Vampires have been having run ins with the Magincians. All this started when the Vampires begin terrorizing refugees from Magincia living in Vesper. The Vampires were in search on an relic that arrived by ship from Magincia to Vesper. The Magicians received word of the mistreatment of it's refugees and came to Vesper to investigate. There they ran into a group of Vampires beneath the Vesper Graveyard while searching for a ship captains wife. They Fought them back through the caves where they escaped with the info they were after on the location of the relic. They then learned of the location of the captains ship only to find it being ransacked by vampires. They fought the vampires once again but still they made away with the cargo. The Magincians discovered the item they came for the the "Misericord" a powerful weapon in the war against the Wolves. They vowed to get it back for many reasons. If they only knew where the Vampires had taken it.....

Siege of Britain
(Phase 2 of RP)
Raiding Force will arrive by ship at Britain Docks and will setup base camp there. All forces will be sent out from this location when battles begin. The goal is to reach Castle Blackthorn for the final battle and acquire the event item. The raiding force will fight there way across Britain using strategic paths and fighting defending forces. The fight will take place in turns coordinated with the defending force. The defending force will be required to rotate players by having players that engaged in the turn rest one turn before being deployed again (unless there isn't enough for next battle). This will provide a more mixed skill defending force. The rest of the rules will be described in detail below. Overall this should be a fun chance for everyone to get to fight with a goal and reward at the end. Not a 5 min large battle that leaves everyone feeling unsatisfied and overwhelmed.
How the Turns Work:
The Raiders must request to attack an area. They have two options.
1.Attack Two areas with preset forces-
If they choose to attack two area they will send the request to the Defenders and they will man the areas to defend
them. They are only required to follow through with at least one of the attacks. But will only have the amount of attackers set on the board. This can be used to tie up Defending forces spreading talent thin since they will not know if one or both of the locations will be attacked leaving an element of surprise.
2. Attack one area with 1-2 extra member on top of Tier Bonus*.
If they choose to attack only one area they will let the Defenders know and they will prepare to defend the area. The benefit of choosing only one area to attack is that you will have the advantage in numbers. In a battle of 5v5 or less you ill receive 1 extra fighter and in a battle of more then 5v5 you will receive 2 extra members.
Once the request is sent and the Defenders send word back they have sent out all there forces and are ready the raiders will attack one area at a time. The battle ends when one side is left standing. The Winning team will return to base and alert the Commander of the outcome. The Defeated team will use the healer shop to revive then return to base. Once all players are back in base the the Raiding Commander will then send out a second force if a second area was requested at beginning of turn or the turn will be over. Then a new area request will begin again.
(if areas requested are near each other the defenders will wait inside or touching building for attackers. Attackers always engage first in battle to insure correct location)
Area Claims:
To claim an area you must defeat the defending force.
*Tier Bonus:
A Tier is for example A1, A2, A3 or and same for all 4B's&2C's areas. If the Raiding force fails to take an area it will be out of play for the remainder of the siege. When the Raiding force fails to take an area they will gain 1 extra member for the next battle in that tier and so on till the one area in that tier is left. If the last area is not accessible they may need go back a tier and take another path to reach it. If all areas have been successfully defended and only one is left the final area will be claimed win or loose allowing the raiding force to continue. With the "Tier Bonus" and "Single Battle Bonus" allowing for up to a 5 person advantage this is unlikely.
* The Music Hall 8v8 Fight
This will be an indoor only battle with no mounts. The battle will begin on the second floor to allow everyone to get inside then all areas inside are free to use.
* The Mage Shop 5v5 Fight
The mage shop will be heavily barricaded with bagballs and fields. If one member of attacking force can make it into the mage shop alive the battle is won. If attackers are killed the defenders win. (will be access through bagball field at all times)
Final Battle:
The final battle will be a full force fight from both side no matter the numbers. It will be a full scale attack on Castle Blackthorn. The battle will begin once forces are inside the gates (a rune will be places outside gate to get inside). The battle will rage throughout the castle. The battle will end with one force standing and they will take home the quest item allowing them the edge for the next event (Phase 3 of our RP sequence)

This is a nice combat system, only issue I might for see is if the Bane pokes their heads in, other wise I think this is well thought out. |

Please someone download camtasia or something and record a few of these fights. |
I'll look into that camtasia thing. Never heard of it.

Yeah if the bane decide to attack we would have to reschedule. They have been in our home base Cove for a while now and we had to move our pvp training since the bane kept getting the kill shots. |

Just a friendly note since I noticed this was going to be done on February 27th, you didnt mention the time, however at 9:00pm est there is a meet and greet with Bennu in britain.
Here is the post regarding it: http://www.atlanticcommunityboard.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27253
Not saying you must go to that however this will greatly affect the traffic in britain and whose around.
You may want to make sure you schedule no where near that time period.
Good luck with your battle. _________________ May destiny guide you... |

A big thank you to the entire V|O clan for organizing this fun and action packed event. I had a great time as did many of my guild mates even though we went down quite a few times. I hate losing and your group is real good at working together.
Thanks again to all of you I know how hard it can be to those that organize these things - shout out to Acheron who though he has left Mag did some work organizing this too.
Take care all

We are glad you all had alot of fun, it was a great effort by everyone. We will have many more of these types of skirmishes with you all if you would like. It was really cool EM Bennu was watching the whole thing, I thought that was a very nice surprise. What I was hoping that we could reverse the roles, have it to where we place the misercord down in a building where you guys nab it, and try to make it out of the city, and if you do, then you have the weapon of power, and we would have to set something up where we come into your territory to get it back, so much more fun and rp could come out of this truly wonderous little artifact _________________ No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country.
