Ari was wandering on the the high cliffs, looking out over the moonlit beach. It was a magnificent night. Silver, pulsing stars were scattered across, making the night twinkle. There was a pale, snow-white shimmering moon in the pitch-black sky. The cold, tranquil night breeze felt velvety on her exposed skin. The sea however, wasn't placid; unceasing, melodic waves were crashing against the water drenched, glistening rocks, creating deep humming sounds. You could almost taste the fresh salt in the air. Ari reveled in her surroundings.
On the left hand side, she could see the basilica, thumping with energy. It blazed like a dazzling star. She knew it so well, she imagined the laughter, shouting, and training Janissaries at work. Ari was feeling she could not cope with the stress from the day & a walk often helped clear her mind. On her right there was a small, desolate place covered in small, lethal looking bushes, obscuring her a small part of the view. She took a deep relaxing breath and concentrated on her panoramic view.
*Grrowls* Ari froze at the blood-curling and evil growl. It went beyond animalistic. It was darker, strident and predatory. She twisted slowly, afraid of breaking herself. She turned just in time to see a gigantic and unnatural thing streaking toward her at a mind boggling speed. It was eight maybe nine feet tall. It had bended knees like humans yet; the thing was covered in gray, black and white fur. She gasped unexpectedly; the.. thing was in front of her. It had huge round eyes; midnight black with lines of red in them. An inhumanly long nose and thick, full red lips; which were peeled back over long, pointed canines. An involuntary high-pitched whimper left her lips, since she could also see sharp, jagged claws, flexing itself as if it were trying to strangle something. A sheen of sweat beaded on her forehead her eyes were all but bulging with apprehension at him. The beast was enjoying himself from the terror in his prey's eyes. It was in his nature to eliminate the weaker.
"what are you?" the question came out in a shaky voice, her lips were trembling hard. Ari new the the answer but she just couldn't believe herself.. Why is he at our beach? She thought. She felt as through her poor tumultuous head had lost it. Meanwhile, she could see the undeniable humor in her companion's eyes; as if he enjoyed her horror and confusion. "You know what? I'm human once in a while.. I'm your worst fear, so stop playing games!" The yelled command came out in a spine tingling, grating tone.
Ari closed her mouth and stood rigidly. Yes, she knew it was a ware wolf in front of her. Searching for ways to save herself; she opened her frozen mouth to say something. However, suddenly the ware wolf bowed in an attacking stance. Instinctively, she took a step back and realized what a humongous mistake it it was. The beast pounced at her artfully; spine arched and head hunched.
Gut wrenching pain clutched Ari's body; as the ware wolf plunged his canines at her shoulder. The night was echoing in noises, her agonized scream and his savage, muffled growl synchronized into an otherworldly, eerie melody of it's own; blending into the endless, vicious night...
With a frightened, shrill squeal, Ari jumped up in her bed. Her gasping sobs were the only sound in the dimly lit, cavernous room.. Ryu, still slept. "Just a nightmare, a nightmare" she muttered to herself frantically. Her heart was beating like a piston; she ran a shuddering hand through her messy hair. She was feeling disoriented and looked over at her right, towards the clock - 3am. |
