A Messenger brings a letter for Cuthbert of Magincia.

General Cuthbert,


Today I write to you not as your enemy, for that is something that due to our difference in beliefs, will always be. I write today in the spirit of respect, that I hold for all enemies of strength.

I know it is uncommon, but Stonegate while sharing an opposing view to Magincia’s still recognizes the fervor for which your people cling to their cause. While my regard of this may matter little to you, I have a task for which I must see this letter thru.

Before your hand tosses this letter to roaring fire, consider our invitation to the upcoming Warriors Ball. This event is a celebration of strength, a celebration of fine craftsmanship and transcends the mundane levels of common hate. There is always time to meet upon the field of battle, however at times it is necessary to put that aside if for even a moment.

Stonegate recognizes you as the General of the Magincia army and with this knowledge you must be learned in the aspects of good armour and weapons. We ask that you honor us as one of the judges in our Armour contest at our Warriors Ball. The event takes place at 9:00pm under the eastern sky on Monday the 31st of January.

Cuth read over the letter, a look of curiosity spreading across his face. Merci was right about one thing - his first instinct was to throw this letter directly into the fire.

Reading over it again Cuthbert sighed and rolled the parchment up, placing it on his desk. "I'll come back to this later..." he thought as he picked up the report he was reading when the note was dropped off.
