The traitor made an unexpected visit the other day, granted it was uneventful, a mention of a gift was offered by the former patron. I require your assistance. He spoke of the gift in the form of a male, no doubt trying to play on my love of torture, to avoid my wrath, and possibly plant a spy within my house. If he wishes to give me a child of the Masked One, so be it.

My command to you is to use your talents to create for me a concoction strong enough to not only wipe his memory but to also make him the most devout follower of the Goddess Herself, next to me of course.

I await for your completed elixir. Perhaps if you succeed, we can use it to unite all drow under one religion. Guard it well, for should it fall into the wrong hands, you head will become my newest trophy.

The drow alchemist read the letter from his Matron and quickly, but carefully, penned a reply in an equally elegant script.

"My Matron,

Thy wish is as good as fulfilled. I request four days to complete this task. The formula for such an elixir is not unknown to me, but I shall need to collect the ingredients which are quite rare and dispersed widely.

I will inform you when I am done, but of course you may call upon me at my home at thy discretion to examine and observe my efforts.

He placed the letter in a sealed cylinder and placed it in the fangs of his frost spider familiar. "Take this to the Matron," he commanded. The creature emitted a chittering sound in affirmation and sped away.
