The crackling of the fire was all that could be heard as her legs were draped over the chair leg and her head rested on the back of the chair. Her eyes twitched as the new scent entered the house. She smirked and mouth Ian's name.

A burst of air entered the throne room and a man entered shouting "Wheres Lucian". her thought echoed his question. She hasnt seen him in over a month and he took there lead blood guard with him. So, she was no more then just a doll in is glass house . Alone and transparent is what she felt. She shifted her thoughts. "Well when you find him let me know"

The man was angry but composed himself ...I am Ian...his hand extended ...She shook it lightly I am Vitoria.

They went on to discuss the dealings with a drow that held Ian's clans lands and how we would deal with this. e made her smile a few times, this made her stomache turn for she was promised to Lucian but was not sure if or when he would return. They parted and set times up for there next meeting and she asked him to bring his mate with him next time but had a feeling he wouldn't.

The door closed and she slide down the door in a silent sob, praying that Ian was far enough not to hear her. The house was silent again. He left her with no word no note nothing just the darkness of there empty chambers. She felt no more then a statue in his artifact room that he would stare at for hours on end and would bring mortals to look at before he feed on them. She brought herself to her feet and said "the glass house shatters here. I hope you like your new queen my love when you return for she will not be so silent." She grabbed the black hooded cloak and left the house in the moonlight.

Maia rummaged through her things. Something she spent much of her time doing lately. "No. Not that." She tossed a pair of finely crafted leggings aside like paper.
"Shhhh. Hush you!" She spouted. "Leave me be!"
She rummaged even more vigorous in the chests as if trying to ignore something or someone.
After making a mess of her home, Maia sat amidst the piles of stuff with a grumble. "What!" She looked up to see several faces.
"What now? Can't you go....haunt someone else?"
"You are the gifted one." They spoke in unison.
Maia grabbed her head and rocked back and forth. "Don't say it!"
"Marius made you who you are."
"I told you NOT to say it! Now Out! OUT!! OUT!!! of here!" She shouted and pointed to her head, then made shooing motions toward the door.
They stayed. She knew they would. They always stayed. Some had totem spirits and guardian angels. Maia had ghosts and spirits. And the occasional demon.
"Well? What is it this time?" She threw up her hands in surrender and kicked some items out of her way. A chaos shield rolled out and came to rest at her feet. She tilted her head curiously and picked it up. The sign of chaos was comforting to her. But it began to swirl as she held the shield. She saw the Blood Queen
walking with Ian Nottingham. She scoured the vision for Kelly.
"Looking for me?" She purred behind Maia.
Maia leaped like a cat up and away from Kelly, sending the shield flying to the wall. "How did...what the...where did..." Was all Maia could say. Her heart raced like a rabbit's.
"You should know not to fear me dear. Do tell me what you see these days? My beautiful childe. Ghosts still bothering you?" She strode with lethal grace over to Maia, her emerald eyes showing a faint glow. Maia nodded and gathered herself as much as could be.
"Chaos is soon to come. Then order. The shadows carry the bloodline."
"Shadows? Which bloodline?" Kelly prodded curiously.
"The Harbinger's Bloodline. There are three total. Two females and a male." Maia looked down in respect.
Kelly smiled and patted her on the head gently. "Maia, you have done well. Let me teach you something...special. Come with me to my lab." She held out her hand and waited.
Maia perked up at the thought of learning something new and took her hand. As soon as she did, she froze. She saw centuries of death, blood, sacrifice, murder. There was no joy, no happiness. Only a drive to serve one being. Then it all took a spinning direction to stop at an image of Ian. Suddenly she felt hot
and bothered. She saw Kelly grin and the two walked back to the lab together.
"Yes Maia. It has felt like that for centuries with him. I know he has been with others. Just as he knows I have done the same." She chuckled softly. "We are vampires, it's what we are, what we do. Often how we get a good evening meal. Though sometimes I do like mine kicking and screaming." She winked and they laughed as they entered the lab. "We are masters in the fine art of seduction." She closed the doors and locked them.

She moved silently darting between the tree lines as her feet barely hit the snow drifts between them. Her eyes never let him as he rode his horse. A small voice entered her head as he descended from his horse."Come on out my dear". A small lump entered her throat. She braced herself and revealed herself from the big oak tree. They exchanged some words, but then his body stiffened and he said "Don't move Vitoria" She braced her self but didnt hear anything in that mere moment he crashed into her almost knocking her to the forest floor. A demon seemed to have tracked her or was it him he was tracking. Ian sunk his fangs into the demon and dropped him.
"Was that yours" he roared at her. She echoed his anger "no". Then why don't you LISTEN!, he barked at her. "why should it matter to you", she replied. His anger seemed to subside as they continued to walk toward his home.

They entered the house, she looked around this home was nothing like hers and Lucians. It felt to human like. Pretty home Ian. He laughed and thanked her."Not like the crypt you live in is it", he said roughly but honestly.

"Lucian keeps it comfy for me", she replied as she looked around.

The ushered this slaves and pointed up the stairs. "theres a room upstairs to feed in". I am not hungry or I should say I dont feed on anyone other than Lucian and Annibella.

"He sure does control you doesn't he", Ian replied.

The rage in her built and she stormed up the stairs and grabbed the first slave feeling her pulse drain under her lips.

"happy now", she hissed at him.

Ian's eyes flashed red. Listen I am not the one who left you to rot in crypt, so you do what you want but do not kill him slaves.

In a few short steps she was in front of him, like you should care if i was left to rot. Her head was stretched out toward him.

You shouldn't do that, as his fangs descended further.

She gripped his wrist and sank her fangs into him. "you took to long", she hissed. He grabbed her hair and sunk his fangs into her neck . Her body buckled under his weight and she rested in his arms. She whispered "thats enough Ian.

He roared at her "NO ONE drinks from me".

His anger scared her alittle but she repressed that and nodded.

Its a shame, you are acting like a princess and not an Elite like you should be acting. That made her blood boil and she unleashed her anger at him. He chuckled to himself. "you will stay her till your clan returns", this oddly comfort her. He showed her to her room and the exchanged there good bye and she closed the door sliding to its floor with a grin and began humming.

New beginnings she thought

Ian shakes his head slowly as he turns from the door and begins to walk toward his office. He pauses and turns his head as he hears humming from Vitoria's room. Ian chuckles a bit as he decends the stairs.

Sitting at his desk, he pulls the glowing green pendant Vitoria had given him from his pocket, inspecting it carefully. A smile crossing his face as he remembers the sweet taste of her blood. "Lucian will certainly naut be pleased." he chuckles softly. Leaning back in his chair he remembers her words, "I am to give this pendant to the one who protects me."

"A Setite, a Drow Priestess, and now a Toreador of royal blood. You never fail to surprise me Ares." he whispered under his breath.

Standing and stuffing the pendant back into his pocket. "Kelly will know what this is." he thinks to himself as he opens his book and recalls to her home.

Kelly sat on the throne she had placed in her lab along with a table and a few extra chairs. She opened the the bottle of bloodwine she had stashed away to relax when she heard the door open. She poured a glass and sat relaxed as the doors to her lab swung wide, revealing Ian.
"Hello dear." She purred to him and slid another glass to her.
"Hello." He stood near the table.
"I trust the children are doing well?" She smiled, already knowing the answer to that.
He smiled briefly. "They seem to be. Can you tell me what this is?" He dug into his robe and pulled a small locket from a pocket and tossed it on the table. It bounced and skid to land at the glass by her hand.
"A pretty little bauble. Please dear, Have a seat." She poured a second glass and delivered it across the table via a shadow. He took a seat and got more comfortable while she picked up the bauble and looked it over.
"Seems Lucian wants to keep her on a leash." She said as she flipped it over.
"She said it was given to her by her mother. She told her to give it to her Protector." Ian corrected quickly.
"Kelly paused a moment, looking at him."Really? I find that odd. The magics on this and the engravings say its a linking bracelet."
Ian looked at her, raising a brow curiously. "A what?"
"It would be this land's equivalant to a bracelet of binding." She tossed it back toward him.
"I figured as much, but wanted a second opinion." He said as he tucked it away in his pocket.
"I trust she tasted good?" Kelly purred as she watched Ian stand.
"Of course." He said as he walked over to her.
"You know Lucian won't be pleased if he finds out." She sat up. "What do you plan to do with the Blood Queen?" She asked.
"She's going to stay at my place until she can acquire a place of her own. For her safety." He stated.
"Do me a favor...get me a vial of her blood." Kelly reached back and grabbed an empty vial, tossing it to him. He gave a mild scowl but caught it.
"You know I don't need much to keep us safe." She stood and wlked with him out of the lab. "Always good to have a backup plan in case things get out of hand."
"I have also decided to take Maia in." She said casually.
Ian stopped and looked at her. "You?"
She nodded and smiled. "The girl is young and has a gift. She can see what others cannot. And talk to them as regular people. Most would see it as insanity. Talking to things...or the air. She also sees visions." She spoke as they walked to her front door. "I think she just needs a little guidance. I have also began to teach her some of the shadow magics."
Ian rolled his eyes and sighed.
Kelly chuckled. "If you happen to see any strange little shadowy things, it is likely Maia trying to get control of her new ability."
They laughed together and Ian headed out.

She strolls warrn out and tired through the front door of Ian's house. She heads to the large stair case and she stops and stares at the grand piano in the corner of the main room. With a heavy sigh she made her way to it and she ran her fingers across the ivory keys. Her fingers played a quick tone and she slide into the piano seat and began to play a song that her mother had taught her before she became Lucian's mate. She stops at the bridge of the music and draws her hands to her head as if in a silent cry. Her tears no longer flowed but she wished she could at this monent.
He had veen gone for over a month and a half and she could feel there ties starting to unravel. She sat up and cleared her head and began to walk up the stairs, she smiled. She could her Ian in his office. She wondered if he knew she was home.

The tavern night was a complete success she thought to herself. *she bit her lower lip* Her thought went to the many comversations between her and Ian.

"Why must he be so worried or concerned" She hissed, As she walked passed her full length mirror.

She stopped and stared at the women in the mirror. She had warm glowing skin, eyes that sparkled and was not the pale women that she had become. Her eye closed and she shook the image from her head. She adjusted her thoughts and went to her closet. She had Shai have Annebella bring her clothing and few other things. She pulled out a just black silk dress that hugged just off her shoulders and slid it on . She then pulled her curls in a neat bun and pulled a few curls to frame her face. She opened her door and head toward Ian's room to speak to him. Her hand rested on the door knob and she took a deep breathe.

Ian walked into his office, tossing the notes Vitoria had given him on his desk. "So an agreement is made" he chuckled, thinking there was more to this than Vitoria had told him. Walking over to his cabinet he pulled a bottle, opening the top and smelling the contents before pouring a glass.

Sitting at his desk, he slowly reads the papers. Taking a long drink, Ian thinks about what he read. "There is no way the half-breed Drow is making it this easy" he thinks as he catches Vitoria's scent.

Ian listens for a moment as he hears her play his piano, then returns to his thoughts. "She won't last long approaching the Atalan as she did, the woman has clearly led a sheltered life." he thinks, an agitated growl coming from him. "Elitist Kindred", he muttered, "there would be none if it weren't for those like me." Running his fingers through his long hair as he wonders why there are those who protect the arrogant Elites. "Because someone has to." he says to the empty room as he senses Vitoria approach his office.

She returned to her room after meeting with the drow priestess and Ian. She spoke to him as if he was nothing more then the slim that was in the yew swamps. She tilted her head and slide her earing out of her ears and stared at them and the memory of Lucian giving them to her on her birthday. She fingers ran over them and she placed them into the small wooden box.

The drow seemed disappointed in the fact that i was submissive to Lucian instead of dominating him.
A shadow moved from the ceiling ad hovered above her and whispered "he left you, and doesnt want you anymore." HE LOVES ME, she smacked at the shadow and spun as it disappeared. She saw a face in the window. Lucian....she inhaled and ran to the window, bit there was nothing. Annabella...she screamed. Go get my Shai now...she growled.

Yes ...yes... Mrs Le'Morte....

She looked out the window as she saw Annabelle head toward Shai's.

The flames licked at the logs in the fire pit and she stared at them. Her eyes glowed a vibrant green as her chin rested on her knees. She had grown tired and weary. She watched the shadows dance across the ceiling and the walls. She over heard Shai's and Dalton's footsteps in the hall. Shift changed she whispered.

She was paler then normal do to the fact that she had not feed in a long. The burning thirst ached the back of her throat. She turned over and layed across her bed and burried her face in the red silk sheets. She then leaned on her elbows and reached across the bed into a small bedside table and pulled her journal to her. She began to pen.

Entry 2,821

I am tired and I feel my self slipping. If I don't feed soon or have Lucian return to feed from. I might regress back to my more animalistic ways. *she groaned at that thought* My duties as the blood Queen have become silent and still. Shai does most of the work now and he does better then i have ever done. Maybe I need to return to sleep.

*drops of blood from her quill drip om the page as she rests*
