Sometimes.

Sometimes dreams were exactly the same for Christopher.

Sometimes he went back. Back to previous moments. Saw exactly the same things he wanted most to revisit.

His young mind unfettered by experience or prejudice, free to drift upon the whims of chance. The myriad tints, and shades, and colors of Life's invisible weave.

And yet...

To reiterate. To repeat. To recollect in the comfortable. In the similar...there hid import.

There lay yearning.

This unfamiliar place seen again.

These faces half remembered.

This picture hung once, or one hundred times...

This was such a time.

Thoryne woke up, sat up like a bolt in the bed. She stared at the soft face of her mangled green stuffed bear. A small grubby hand reached out and pulled him close.

Did you have a bad dream Mister Jelly Bear the second?

She pulled the bear close as if he was speaking into her ear. After a few low growl sounds Thoryne laid back in her bed staring up at the ceiling. She contemplated this new development for a moment before getting out of bed.

She went about her daily tasks, she dressed herself and Jelly bear putting a little brown hat made of leather on his head. She ate her carrots and sat a bowl of honey in front of Mister Jelly Bear the second.

He didnt touch his honey this morning...

She finally with trepidation in her small heart moved to the window of her home and stared out it. She stayed there all day.

Cause someone was watching...listening... seeing...thats what Mister Jelly Bear said.

We're Here...was her reply.

"We're Here." echoed in Christopher's head everytime he closed his eyes.

But he didn't need telling, he knew where they were. Every one of them. Every face.

Only no one ever paid his visits any attention until the little girl with the dirty bear.

He wondered if she saw the bear like he saw the bear.

He wondered if they would all gather again.

So unlike each other, so unlike himself, but bound together by something he didn't have a name for.

He was sure he counted seven days including today.

So long as he stood quietly in the back and listened, no one would notice him. No one would mind.

And no one had to know.

He was sure he counted seven days.

She was crying huddled, in a corner and a dead bear lay at her feet, something had ripped a vicious hole in its side..

Sobs shook her thin pale body. Her red hair a matted mess, her clothing torn and covered with her beloved bears blood.

Shadows danced around her mocking her, staring at her. She hated being looked at.

She turned her face away but it was forced back.

Thoryne could see.

Thoryne could feel.

Thoryne could hear.

She pulled out a hammer and stud.

She was looking for someone that could not be found.

She slammed the hammer down and a soft clinking sound echoed thru the valley.

Pain... she screamed..Come back..
