Hello All,

I am a returning UO player - played for many years - from the beginning. And since that time have been on and off, on the OSI shards and Free ones. I am now returning to OSI after a long time.

I am pretty lost with all the new items, and the interface, but slowly learning it. I have no idea what is considered a rare item now a days if it exsits still =)

I started a character on Atlantic, but am thinking about transferring one of my characters from another Shard over.

I am not an expert roleplayer, I would say beginner even though I have been in Roleplay guilds in other games, and have played some RP shards out there too.

I am in Switerland for work, am from the US. I am looking at Atlantic and Europa Shard - Europa Shard since it is closer to me, and probably more people play on my time zone, but Atlantic seems to be more active? Maybe

As for the character(s) I will play, well, my main character, is a fisher at heart, loves to fish, and fish up MIBS and more. Also, loves to go on hunts, or treasure hunts (though not sure they will have skills for the T-Maps, though for RP purposes, that would make more sense) - This character I would probably consider to be neutral - and would do business with anyone regardless of alignment.
I myself am not a pvper (least never on UO), so my character, will mainly want to RP, and PVM, and hunts, etc... and would love to be on the water a lot!

My grandmaster fisher is a female - but never roleplayed with her, since it is kind of weird, being a guy, so I would maybe have to purchase name change/gender deed as well...

So - am looking to get back into things - and find a guild that may fit me. Just wondering if any suggestions on a good guild fit, and an active one at that. There are many on this site, so I will be looking at them -

That said, I will tell you a bit about The Republic of Magincia.

Magincia was once an opulent and decadent city of vast gardens and marble palaces. In 2007, a daemonic horde descended on Magincia, slaughtering most of its citizens and destroying the once beautiful city. Only a handful of survivors escaped the carnage.

The Republic was founded by the Magnate Isk and the Administrator Joanna Weaver and is located on the island of Magincia under the Trammel moon. The guild currently holds 3 of 5 public buildings on the island.

The guild is considered "neutral" by alignment standards and focuses first and foremost on RP, especially in regards to the In-Game philosophy of Humanis . The guild also engages in PvP and PvM.

The Republic is open to the acceptance of any type of character class, ranging from warrior and mage to fisherman and tinker. In fact, as we are an actual island city as defined in original UO lore, we heavily encourage craftsmen to apply - a city needs smiths, fisherman, miners and tailors, of course!

In keeping with our In Game philosophies, the Republic is not particularly interested in accepting Dwarves, Elves, Vampires or Gargoyles . However, if you are of a non-human race and wish to join, you may still be able to do so provided you are willing to renounce your non-human nature and commit yourself to the acceptance and advancement of human ideals.
