So I am now officially back in the United States (for those unaware, I was deployed to Afghanistan and have been looking around at various UO communities.... currently in Europa). I was looking at uo.com today and noticed there did not seem to be a lot of highlights compared to the number of guilds listed on this forum.
Am I missing something? |

First, welcome back to UO. Part of the reason for the low war highlights is there are several alliances in the community. When you highlight an alliance, it only counts as one war. Stonegate/Blue Lotus, Maritime, and the Vampiric Order all have allied guilds from that list and I'm sure there are others as well. Part of the reason for membership being lower than normal is the summer lull. Hopefully, it'll pick up as fall hits full swing.
We still have our weekly Monday tavern night if you want to stop in to take a look. We'd love to see a returning member of our community find his way home! _________________

Malidian,
Firstly, welcome back! Second, yes the highlights are something that has been brought up to work on! We -ARE- an active shard rp'ly and a lot of us are working to portray that better.
Yes! As Ariana said, please feel free to join in at Tavern night and also check the schedule for events and things as they get added.
One other thing: There is a chat feature now and thanks to Ariana we have the Atlanitc rp channel. A lot of us have it up and running at all times if you just want to holler!

Huh?
The war highlights are low? I looked last week and this week and every Atlantic guild in the top ten war rankings are an ARPC guild....
Just sayin'....
EDIT: Adding a link for people to look.

We're lower than Europa and Cats, mainly. All the random alliances make it so, if you are warred to Army of the Iron Lotus, Blue Lotus, Guardians of Stonegate or Citizens of Tokuno, that only counts as one. _________________ (4:45:41 PM) Jarem: It becomes increasingly difficult to feel noble in my causes when my cause is to defend my charge from her own violent tendencies. |

Part of the reason for the lower numbers as compared to... catskills for instance... is a tendency to remove highlights to guilds that are no longer around, rather than keeping guilds that have been gone for years highlighted just to compete for a spot on the top warring guilds list. |

Thanks, I was not aware an alliance meant only 1 highlight. In previous shards I played each warred everyone else and alliances just were made in game instead of game mechanics.
I was not referring to the top guild listings or anything else, as I said originally, the number of guilds on uo.com did not seem to match with the guilds listed on this forum. |
