|
Magnate,
I have tried unsuccessfully to meet with some representative from this Maritime Union for a few weeks now with no semblence of luck. As I find myself, and my people, 'allied' with this Union, I fear I am woefully ignorant as to what that entails.
I will not mince words when I say I remain highly dubious of its prospects, or what it means as far as my people, most who are blood relatives. I would, however, like an opprontunity to come and speak to you about it on a night not designated as an official meeting night.
Perhaps Thursday evening?
Personal feelings aside, I trust that you, at least, will make time to conduct business.

*This letter comes within a large rectangular package*
Arahim,
My apologies but your joining occurred at a time of transition and with the lack Merrique you can understand how things have gotten slow on my end of things.
Arahim, it will be a great pleasure to meet with you on Thursday, let us say... at nine by the eastern sun in Serpent’s Hold? We will inform you of the happenings and responsibilities of membership. Feel free to bring your kin along, I adore gypsies.
Enclosed is a painting, a one of a kind. Treat it well and accept it as not only a gift but an apology for having kept you in wait.
-Isk, the Magnate

Looking over the large painting of Magnate Isk, Arahim found himself slack jawed and entirely at a loss for words.
Turning to his giggling son, he asked:
"Do I send a thank you note?"
Shrugging once, Christopher ran upstairs laughing louder.
Still agape at the strange portrait Arahim spoke aloud, this time to no one.
"I think he's trying to hypnotize me..." |
