How can you even say this?

The tower is placed. The council is picked. LOL Obviously, its going to happen whether or not anyone attends the meeting. The only point of the meeting I can see is to perhaps get answers to previous questions, and TRY TO HAVE SOME SAY.

I will also be attending the meeting to petition for the fel tower.

I find it funny that it only took a few days and a few posts for the diplomatic facade to fall. This was very poorly handled every step of the way.

I echo D'thal's post, except one last personal opinion; an EM-built point of interest is going to become one of three things: an abandoned husk, a center for roleplay, or a luna replacement where people spam to sell crap and hit their golems all day long. You've pissed on the roleplayers by telling us that it is a horrible reborn version of something that once was a roleplay landmark, and if the shiny bells and whistles that you put there to keep the non-roleplayers interested get boring, that leaves only one eventuality.

I have spoken to Eris regarding the tower. She is attempting to obtain input from the players who were upset by this and has advised me that her and Nestor have been asked by Messana to take the lead on this project. I did not get into specific details on whether or not the tower could/would be relocated as I figure those concerns can be addressed at the meeting. As it stands now Eris wants this new tower to be a Mage Tower for the community that will pay homage to the original AMT and is open to ideas to make it such a thing.

I volunteered to make a list of old decorations that stood out with the original AMT to help move things along in that regard. I did not discuss the Council with her as again, I feel the meeting tomorrow will explain how that will work. I feel like this moving in the right direction now and hopefully the meeting tomorrow will clarify the specific details on what can/cannot/will happen.

The one thing I think we should all keep in mind is, though the original Atlantic Mage Tower became a focal point of role playing, it was not originally established as a strict role play structure. As far as I remember the people on the Council were all Mage characters but not all were hardcore role players. I think the new tower will reflect that while still providing us an area to expose non-role players to the ARPC.

So let's step away from the negativity of who will be in charge, since it will be the EM's of Atlantic, and start coming up with ideas on how to make the tower represent the ATM of old while being functional in the current game to the point where it will be used.

I have several ideas for that which I will post later. Does anyone have any screenshots (besides those on stratics) of the old AMT? I remember a few things that should be included but it has been a long long time.

Okay everyone, it's the proverbial come to Jesus time. It's time to decide if you want something cool for our shard, or if you want it to go away along with the hopes of ever having another dev try to do something nice for us. I'm serious.

Yes, I'm a nobody. I'm not one of you, an outsider, but I do know this: If we as a community of game players, of Atlantians, don't go to the meeting and offer positive constructive feedback on how to make this the best damn community center, mage tower, whatever, then it will go poof along with the hopes and dreams of any more special places.

Mesanna has a million things to do, and they don't include wiping our asses when we all act like spoiled brats (I said we, that means me too).

So, as far as I'm concerned I don't care what we call the place, I don't care if I'm co-owned, or if I chair any player event council. I care that we develop something great for our shard.

Right now it is being called the Mage Tower by EMs and others, so you know what it's the Mage Tower. Derium and I tried to call it something else so that we wouldn't offend anyone, so that we wouldn't step on your toes or hurt anyone's feelings, or alter your history. But, obviously that didn't even come close to working. Yes, the Mage Tower is returning and it's in Tram. Sorry, it's not going back to Fel. The old tower is in the past, video game history if you will. The shard is evolving into something new, something better.

Now the challenge: How do you as a community want to make this place absolutely awesome? That is the sole issue left or it's all gone.

Honestly I was looking forward to what this new community center might have brought to the game, but after this post I have to agree with D'thal post you have basiclly just tossed down a gauntlet of "our way or else". D'thals final words on it echo I am sure almost everyone's feelings. You said you were the articulate one of the two of you I am not seeing that. Honestly you didn't have us bowing down and thanking you and now you are going this way of shifting the blame to us.

Though some chose to flame right way on your participation on this server (or lack there of) which i don't agree with, the fact remains of what I said and the truth again was said best by D'thal

I doubt this. One poor execution on your part won't ruin the element of UO having an interactive group of devs willing to work with the player base. The Dev's have done a phenomenal job of being interactive with us over the past several months with very few blips. By saying this, you're insulting the intelligence of the Dev Team and anyone you're addressing.

You've addressed nothing that I said, and now you're casting blame. Rest assured, the point of your post was very clear and noted.

Without the RP community you are 100% correct on this.

Thank you, Phoenix, for demonstrating that you are not the man for the job.

Thank the gods. Hopefully, this is a sign we will have an opportunity with the input by the whole community as it should have been to begin with.

Absolutely we will. Eris, Nestor and Mesanna are letting Atlantic as a whole have input into our community tower.

This tower will be created by the community, for the community.

Now that all of Atlantic is involved, we will have input into where the tower is placed, its features, its structure, and what it can do for everyone on this shard.

Our EM's have always cared about Atlantic as a whole, and I'm glad they are putting that passion into this now.

As a side note, everyone be sure to attend the meeting tonight at 7:00PM at the Britain counselors hall. Bring everyone you can, even friends who don't roleplay, we need as much of Atlantic to attend as possible, from PvP'ers to rares collectors to roleplayers to all others, everyone needs a say in this.

I have told a few people via icq but wanted it to be public, I am working tonight and will do my best to make the meeting but will most likely be 10-15 minutes late.
