Merci looks down at the small snake curled up in her lap fast asleep. She runs a hand over its smooth scaly head. Sleepily it opens its eyes and raises its elegant little head. She reads the short note a second time feeling shock but knowing that she shouldnt. Knowing instinctively what the groom will want to set the past behind him, it was time. Then perhaps her cousin will find happiness. She sighes heavily now and the small snake curls up her arm its tongue flickering as she searches out her way.

What do you say Emily, would you like to be a flower girl? The snake hissed at her, she laughed and sighed. Aaah Fiona if you only knew...
