Although Raje knew he had not been reaffirmed in the Order he still sought to protect the Order from those whom did not belong upon Charnel Hill. He constantly transversed the lands this night, killing and animating that which he had slain. He walked for what seemed to be hours, never losing focus of what he was to do: Protect the tenents, protect the skull, protect the Order, serve Oblivion. He walked tirelessly all night patroling the area untill at long last he was given a audience with one Dealthagar, one he had been told to speak with of service to Oblivion. It had been days since his arrival, he had been called thrall and worse. Yet the entity which had tortured him, awoke him to service, and whom had been speaking to him through the vespers had kept him in line. He knew he had to be successful in whatever task given to him because failure was no longer an option. He must find favor with that which had awoken him anything less and he would be bound to a torture of eternal torment rather than the blessing of nothingness. His torture would be quite the opposite in fact, it would be everything all at once at such an intense level that it would rip his soul apart for the rest of eternity. He was not special, and Raje knew this now, more than ever before. He knew that he had to find a way, anyway to reconfirm himself with the order even if it took years to do so. He must appease the Lich Lord, gain readmittance to the Order, and help them keep Oblivion's tenents. Help them understand the ways of Oblivion, his messages, and keep Oblivion's day of service unholy and safeguarded.
For Raje was once Clergy, this is what he could remember. He used to hold black mass on a Sunday after the sun had set and the moon had risen above the crest of the twisted treeline. He would, at times, show what sacrifice was needed to be made to appease Oblivion through ritual, he had worked under the Lich Lord, did as he was told and all was unholy and right. Yet now, times had changed, he was nearly labeled a heritic for having servied under Admoreth, a Lich Lord that Raje had secretly hated. However the new Lich Lord seemed to be much more intelligent than Admoreth, he spoke without riddle or gargleing his words. The issue with Edda was still at hand, Raje knew he must appologize to her for his outbursts but could not find the time this evening to do so, perhaps tomorrow evening would be a better chance.
Raje bowed on one knee once before the Skull, head bowed in reverance arms crossed upon his knee. "I swear to uphold the same codex that was entrusted me so many years ago, I swear to obey the covenent, the most unholy of days in which we hold service in Oblivion's name, and I promise to do as commanded to extend the will the Lich Lord with all that I have and all that I am. I have returned, please accept me once more into your unholy Order to tend to the flock as I once did, to watch over them and help guide them by the Lich Lord's commands and the laws set forth so many eons ago. In your most unholy of names. . . Entheng."
Raje stood back up his black half robes once again draping over his body and finally swishing the ground, turned on his heel and looked around once more. His eyes stopped on the hill itself. He smiled a dark smile, something he had not been able to do in a long time and recalled back to his newly risen tower in Ice.
The last thought he had before starting back on his studies and writings was, "It is good to be back even if I am not of the Order right now, those are my brothers and sisters and Lords and Ladies of the Skull. Together under the Lich Lord who is guided by Oblivion and the Skull we shall rise once more to the full power of our potential." |
