The duelist grasped his warfork in one hand, slung his pack of provision around his shoulder with the other, and hit up the open road.
It had been nearly a decade since Dan had decided to return home from the great lands beyond. He had set out to see all that the world had to offer, what new experiences were to be had and what new loves were to be cherished and lost. His true love though, his passion, had always been in his left hand all along, with his warfork. It was his trusted companion no matter where he went, always there to help him fight for whatever whimsical morals he believed were righteous given the right scenario.
Ahead, the sun was beginning to slowly rise over the forest. He stood sidelong upon the hilltop, watching it with eager anticipation as only the sun would light the truth path home for him through the mystic forest below. A brief gust of wind whispered through the air, almost beckoning him to continue his journey here and there, but he knew he must wait for the sunlight to reach him, and his path. As he stood there, looking down at the dim path that was waiting to be basked by the morning sun, he could see hints of sunlight already peeking through the forest branches, hitting the morning dew drops of the gross along the path. This would be a homecoming that had been all too long postponed for him, for though he left a teenager, he was returning home a young man. His once long flowing ponytail with a forest green color, passed down from the father he never knew, was now cut short and held stiff, upright, another sign of his growth.
His body had once adorned loose clothing, his rum red pigment vest, his black pants, blue sandals, and his signature black headband that he took everywhere with him. Now though, he wore more clothing to suit the colder climates which he had traversed, not only from the weather but from the revelation too that the world was a much colder place than he had once given it credit for. Not all battles were winnable, nor fair. There were tyrants at large, to him, who had many a follower which he found unjust. Dan was but only one man in a great big world, but at least throughout his journey he knew well the lesson of Humility in his heart. He knew his place, and that place, to him here and now, was back on Sosaria, back home.
Sunlight glistened down onto the road before him now, and without a moment to lose he treaded down the steed slope and rolled right into the woods. There was a moongate inside of this place, a secret connection between this world and that of Sosaria. He would find the old trails, revisit the landmarks that guided his way, and before long, he would be standing amongst friend and foe alike in a world he had shared so much of his youth in.
It was time to come home, to friend and foe alike. _________________ AKA: Gryss ab'Arawn
