For a returning roleplayer, where are the hotspots now?
Where does someone not affiliated with a group go to find roleplay outside of tavern nights?
What groups/guilds are around? Where are they located? [Gypsies, cultists, mercenaries, anything?]
What are current events/political situations/anything relevant that the average person would know? What is considered common knowledge for all characters?

Hotspots: Most of the active guilds' areas have roleplay during active hours. Blackmarsh, OES (Umbra), Stonegate, and Sanctus to name a few. You can find runes to these places in Goodman's (book on the steps).
Current events:
OES and Sanctus are at war.
OES regards Blue Lotus and Stonegate as hostile
Blackmarsh is friends with both Sanctus and OES.
Blackmarsh considers Blue Lotus hostile
Stonegate and Blue Lotus are allies
Maritime Union is neutral to all
That's all pretty much common knowledge. For sake of ease, consider all relationships reciprocal.

The Witch's Hearth has recently opened with the intention of being an open RP place for people to go anytime. It's new, so not the hub it is the hope it will become, but folks are welcome to come hang out any time, not mater if they are in a guild or not. There's a rune at Goodman's to get there. All I ask is park any mounts in the stable area not over the runemarked spot.  |

Chat is being used in game now. ( If you are using 2d, up on the top bar with map, paperdoll, inventory, journal and help, there is a chat button. Click it and join 'atlantic rp'. )
As far as vent , I think most guilds use their own separate ones. |

OES can be found North of Umbra at Charnel Hill. Our weekly event schedule is posted every Sunday night/Monday morning in our forum on this board. We usually have members around the Hill every night for RP purposes. Either that or we're deep in the Abyss.

The Sirah Syndicate and !DRW work out of the desert south of Umbra. It's through the mountains, can't miss it. Name of the lot is Double Dagger Inn and Tavern, we get together there for roleplay. Lately we've been crawling around Buc's Den Tramside.
EDIT: We're planning to unveil second venue soon. |
