The heat was near unbearable as they sat at the altar of the great Dragon itself. Jason tended to Willow's wounds as she leaned against the wall, magic sealing her cuts and burns to great effect. Young Morello was not as lucky, Lady Stallis having laid him down by the alter, knelt down and focused what power she had at the moment to the curing of his wounds. Yet even as the white light faded from around him it was obvious though the wounds healed, the disfigurement was beyond what they had upon them them repair. With a bit of effort the mage raised to his feet, waving Stallis away.

" We can't wait too much longer, our portal of time grows thinner with each wound we waste the time healing here." Came Jason's gruff voice as he laid the orbs in their appropriate positions along the altar, the summoning ritual of The Stygian Dragon. Weary bodies rose for the occasion blades drawn, reagent pouches opened, and hearts steeled against the coming storm . How this unlikely force had not only met by chance in this vastness of the Abyss, but managed to pass insurmountable odds still perplexed the youngest of their force.

No sooner had they all uttered a prayer than did the dark green moon gate open before them, a gaping maw into the realm that Morello feared would be their demise. The world spiraled and vanished, reality bent against it's will and as suddenly as it began the world righted itself the true terror of their task gripping them at their very core. Treasure littered the ground, brick and mortar hidden by gold and sliver. Atop the treasure lay the true trophies of the beast, bones and decay of previous adventurers lay scattered about a grizzly reminder that this task could well be their last. Standing tall among the mound of prize and warning however stood the true object of their dread, a beast of epic proportion, a mound of scale and fire the great Stygian Dragon!

Arrogance in it's step, the Dragon thundered for the adventurers stone falling from the walls and ground shaking with each thunderous foot fall. Senses regained at the loom death they scattered quickly. Willow stood as a true as any solider of the warring fields could hope too, dancing between the might legs and blocking flames after each mighty blow she landed against it's near impenetrable scales. Through and through her blade slashed wounds which drew no blood yet still cut deep into the flesh of the Abyssal King. Sosaria shook and her skies brought forth a rain of fire onto the mages and yet even her mighty rage could not pierce the invisible shield Stallis rose to their defense in it's entirety. Yet still did some fall, burning them and fuddling their spells as they held place. Fire cascaded around them as Jason called forth the strongest beast magic could conjure before he had to dodge a fall of molten rock, slicing through the shielding. Tearing it's way up from the ground rose a Rising Colossus, magic and nature fused in perfect harmony.

Morello was nearly transfixed by the perfection of his three companions and the harmony with which they worked against the Dragon. What focus he had was used to throw the few spells of healing he knew to keep alive the stalwart paladin holding the front line. Wounds healing as soon as they opened and spell fire raging about the arena, a colossus grappling with the beast ad yet hours seemed to pass in the span of moment.

As soon as they had entered the arena, where they leaning against the corpse of the mightiest beast in all of Sosaria. Not a word was uttered, the sound a dieing "God" and the victorious sigh of relief was all that permeated the air as the small fellowship pondered their deeds. While a creature like the Dragon would not stay dad for long, atleast his reign was shortened and Sosaria could rest peacefully for night if not more.
