Tari flipped to a fresh page in her notebook and began to write.

Quote:

Sara,

I've been wanting to write you for days, but my duties to Blackmarsh and training have kept me busy. I wanted to thank you for a wonderful, though unfortunately short, evening earlier this week. I feel absolutely intoxicated when I think of you, and it's not because of any liquor! I hope to be able to break away again soon to share a drink (or twenty), talk, and relax.

Can’t wait to see you,
Tari

Tari looked up from the note and sighed. The conflicting thoughts and emotions confused, concerned, and even frightened her a bit. She glanced at the note in her hand, unsure whether to have it delivered or simply burn it. Tari furrowed her brow, then smiled. Let the Gods decide, she thought. Tari rolled the note, tied it with the usually leather strap, and opened a gate to Snowden. Here goes nothing! Tari threw the note as hard as she could through the gate, and let the magic dissipate.

Back from a long days monster hunt, Sara was eager to relax in her sauna and do nothing for a few hours. When she arrived home at Snowden, she found Terese, Snowden's herald, ever vigilant, wearing an eyepatch.

Never one to question one's motives, Sara played along.

"Avast, T'rese! Wh't be the news this eve?"

Terese, quiet and patient, gave Sara an unsure smile.

"Pardon, Miss?"

"The eyepatch? I assumed we were pirates today." Begrudgingly, Sara dropped her piratical accent.

"Oh no. I'm sorry for the confusion. I was struck in the eye earlier today. On a related note, a message arrived for you via moongate." Terese extended her arm to reveal a rolled parchment bound with a leather strap. Not entirely sure of how being hit in the eye and this letter were related, Sara shrugged it off and perused the note.

Chuckling to herself as she finished the note, she raided Rizzen's room for the equipment she would need to send a response.

Sara Delan wrote:
Tari,
I am always up for a night of revelry and fun. I usually attend community tavern night, we can meet up then. If you stop by Snowden there's always the decent chance you'll run into me there.

See you soon,
Sara

Learning from her last encounter with the mail system, Sara knew better this time. She handed the letter to Terese.

"Take care of this for me?"

With a barely noticeable sigh, Terese accepted the letter.

"Yes, Miss."

Smiling, Tari popped open her mailbox and retrieved the letter inside. She waved her hand as she walked away, lowering the flag on the box back into place. Tari unfolded the letter and read the contents. A cluster of expressions moved across her face before settling on a slight smile. Very well, dear Sara she thought, I'll meet you at Tavern Night. Tari rolled the note up carefully and took it inside to place in her dresser.
