She didnt know where she was. Snow was softly falling that was comforting. She followed the scent. Her soft padded feet hit the ground and the white wolf blended away into the snow except for her luminous blue eyes. Vaguely she felt this wasnt right. She shouldnt be here. Where was her bed?
She had a good trace now on the prey and continued. Her mind returning to instinct before she could follow her prior thoughts further. She picked up her pace to a run her stomach becoming more insistent.
Hunger...tear the flesh sweet flesh between her teeth the feel of it... the taste of its blood on her tongue. She panted moving faster. Who was she? What was she? Usually so controlled, spiraling towards the prey without caution without reserve. She didnt even care what sort of creature her nose was following. Then she saw it it was young, the mother was away...She leapt.
The mother was not away... Icy fire reigned out of the mother Wyrms mouth as Merci the wolf leapt at the baby Wyrm. She dodged and leapt still her mouth viciously tearing at its jugular it gave a scream and its mother was bearing down on her as she dragged its young, blood spurted from its neck. It splattered her fur..it splattered the white ground. She didnt care, so fierce, so hungry.. must eat, I need this meat, must have it............
She got away...or so she thought, with her food, but the shadow of the wyrm darkened the sky above her house and the wolf sat within its shelter her mouth viciously tearing thru the tender flesh. She ate and then at last exhaustion washed over her. She fell fast asleep near the small dead dragon, curled up protectively, not a wolf anymore, her white chemise splattered with blood and carcasses of dead creatures scattered about her. Above, the White Wyrm circled the skies, searching... _________________ May destiny guide you... |

Bishimi slowly staggered from his bed, still reeling a bit from his dream. It took him time to even realize he was no longer dreaming regardless of the blood among his room and the large shadow looming about the home. The Soke looked about the room with a bit of disgust crossing his face. He knew not what to make of the mess of blood and fur strewn about the room.
He quietly followed the trail downstairs with worry in his heart. If something should have happened to his wife he would not be able to live with himself, not to mention while she holds his child. As Bishimi tip-toed down the stairs a flood of thoughts ran through his head and heart. He would not know what to do, how to act should she be hurt. The smell about the house, the darkness lingering outside of it gave him little reason for hope.
Bishimi reached the bottom of the stairs, a sigh crossed his lips. He was not sure if he should be relieved or worried to see his woman curled up among a pile of felts and a mess of blood. Had she been dressed he may have found reason for concern or anger, but in her current state it was hard for him to focus on much but her body. He walked over her naked form as quietly as possible and opened the door. As he peeked out of it he began to put everything together. The corpse surrounding his wife must have been the child of the one circling the house in the sky. Bishimi quietly went back upstairs and gathered his gear. He was not sure how to think of what he has seen this night yet…but he had a wyrm that needed attending right now. The Soke sighed as he pulled his hood over his face and stepped to the shadows, “Let us see if I can manage one of these beasts.” He thought to himself as he hopped out the window.
“We have much to speak about in the morning.” |
