Before the slave collapses and passes from this realm at Darrien's feet, he is able to place a handwritten note on the Lich Lord's table.

M'lord and Brother in Chaos,
The First House of Shinduago Charnaggen has been infiltrated by a deviant and deceptive person. This evening the traitor Alaundril and his new found friend Gorhun Morchiant paid a visit. At first I believed it was to visit the new priestess, but now I have discovered the true meaning of the visit. The priestess has been kidnapped! They are the only suspects I have as I had held the princess not long before their departure. My barmaid was found unconscious on the floor and the baby gone. How they accomplished such without leaving my sight, I do not know.
I come to you for assistance with retrieving her. I request a meeting with you at once for I believe her life may be in danger. Gorhun has not hidden the fact that he follows The Masked One which as you know does not look kindly on Matrons or let alone females.

I demand their heads as well as any other accomplice.

Sincerely,
Matron Kal'iksix
First House of Shinduago Charnaggen

A large, stark black raven swoops over the starry void that comprised the eastern moat of Umbra before entering into the domain of Shinduago, carrying a rolled up scroll to be brought before the temple.

Vendui Ilharess,

Given my knowledge of Ilythiri culture and my own understanding of the situation in which you now find yourself, the Lich Lord has placed this matter into my hands. As of such, I shall need to speak with you on the matter that I might gain a much greater sense of clarification as to the recent occurrences. I most certainly dislike being dispatched on minor errands and require further understanding on the power play at hand here, before I commit the Order to a full retaliatory strike against the likes of the man named Gorhun Morchiant.

I await your response.

-Izrem Verin'Vlos.

Upon finishing the letter, Kal'iksix penned her reply:

Lord Izrem,
It's nice to see a drow in such a position as yours, but forgive me, your wording has been interpreted as that my issue is of little concern to Lord Darrien and his group. I do hope that this is just my emotions interfering with interpretation.

I will be available all this week in the evening hours. I hope you are not too busy to bother to assist with returning the priestess, I, however have started my own search of the realm. Funny, I would have thought that an heir would be of some importance to Lord Darrien. Seeing how he's passed me off, I would hate to bother you with my trivial request. I await your earliest availability.

Matron Kal'iksix
First House of Shinduago Charnaggen

After sealing the note and sending it off, Kal'iksix slumped in her throne, chewing her lower lip in thought. As an idea popped in her head, she rose suddenly and rushed out of the throne room and headed to the crypt below the altar in the temple.
"Time to awaken my sleeping powerhouse." Kal'iksix muttered under her breath with a slight evil grin

A letter soon found its way back to Shinduago Charnaggen.

Ilharess Kal'iksix.

I am confused by the tone of your response as it seems as though you are disappointed that the Lord Darrien Church decided to dispatch one of his Ancients to assist in your troubles. Were you, perhaps, expecting for him to step off his throne and float around, poking his head into every hole and home in the land? Or do you simply view me as somehow powerless or incapable in this matter? I am perhaps one of the more practical members of the Order and given to an extraordinarily small amount of whimsy, given the nature of our work. I would have thought my disposition as it has thus been displayed has shown I rarely speak in terms of extreme urgency or excitement. I calculate, Matron. I am well aware of the petty power games that drow can play with each other for the sake of position and leverage. However, I certainly recognize the importance of reclaiming the high priestess. I simply am not inclined to respond in the emotional fashion to which you first inquired of us. If you believe me incapable of assisting you due to my less than eager tone, then I will speak with the Herald Dealthagar and see if he desires to assist you in this shared duty of our people.

If you still feel inclined to receive a visitation of myself, I shall be available anytime this eve, Wednesday eve or Thursday. If you still wish to speak, merely send me a missive stating what would work best for you.

Z'hin wun Oloth,
Izrem Verin'Vlos
