|
With intent and foresight, Zoe Blackstone set about writing Blackmarsh. They were an up and coming little town. Honestly she knew very little about them except that it was an opportunity for trade, which in turn meant gold. A prosperous business was everything to Zoe. While the shop really didn't belong to her, she spent a lot of time there. It meant almost as much to her as it did to Assia. So when premission had been granted to start business negotiations, Zoe was thrilled. Pushing her dusty blonde ponytail out of the way, she commenced her letter:
"Mayor Denzin Bracken,
I represent Dragonstorm Marketplace, which sits beyond the Eastern Bridge of Umbra. Perhaps you have heard of us. We strive for competitive prices, good merchandise and a great respect for our customers. It is with these principles that I propose to discuss trade negotiations with you and your city. I believe it would be mutually beneficial and allow for growth in public relations as well as gold! Gold, is after all, a wonderful factor unto itself.
I can be found at the shop, with very little exceptions.
Thank you inadvance for your time,
Zoe Blackstone,
Dragonstorm Marketplace missary"
Rolling up the letter and marking it with Dragonstorm's seal, Zoe politely handed it to one of the minor shopworkers with a polite smile. "Please see this gets delivered." |

Denzin sat quietly in his private quarters. He had a small spoon full of nightshade and was gently, carefully, moving it to rest on top of a candle. The massive steel doors of the barracks slammed closed, startling Denzin and causing him to spill the nightshade.
"For the love of.." Denzin began to mutter.
The door to his study flew open, and Camilla popped her head in. Behind her, his "highly trained royal guard" stood confused. Denzin looked past Cam to the guard, the man behind Camilla merely shrugged.
"Denz..oh I mean, Emperor Brackeeen! I have a leeetteer for you!"
"Neat. May I have it?" Denzin replied, still sulking over the mess on the table.
Camilla passed him the letter and he read it carefully. He nodded and muttered a bit throughout the letter. After he finished he placed it on the table.
"Want a special job?" He asked.
"Doing...what?" Cam said awkwardly in reply.
"Travel to Umbra. Meet with this Zoe of Dragonstorm Marketplace. See what she wants, she what she wants to trade. You may bartar butter, milk and meat. Let me know how it goes."
Camilla nodded and headed out the door. Denzin turned back to his table and lifted a spoon again. He lifted ground up blackpearl this time, but paused. He heard the loud slam of the steel doors, nodded, and went back to work. _________________ BeastMaster (6:27 PM):
