So yeah, I know I haven't posted in a long long time, but for any of you who remember me or any of my alts, I have been quite the busy little camper these past couple of months. As some of you may know, I have enlisted into the ARMY, and am serving an active duty contract of 5 years, and 3 years on reserve. Hard to believe I know, but this is just something I had to do to get out of the hellhole I called my hometown and actually DO something with myself. So anyways, I've went through Boot Camp over at Ft. Knox, Kentucky, and let me tell you that is certainly an experience I will never forget. I had my good times, my hard times, and I even discovered Jesus while I was there. I can't make this rubbish up! I was part of the "Wolf Pack" 3rd platoon out of Delta Company 1-46th.
Anyways, the road marches sucked and the training was hell at times, but man was I super proud of myself when I was standing there for my graduation. My whole family showed up to see me graduate, where I stood in formation with my Class A's on and I sounded off with the SOLDIER'S CREED. Any of you ex-military remember it maybe? I know I do!
So here I am, I just bought a super awesome laptop here at Ft. Meade, MD and I am hoping to be using it to keep in touch with all of you. Its crossed my mind more than once that I should join you all again back on Ultima Online, but we'll see what happens. If I do, it'd only be for the Roleplaying but I still have yet to start my classes here so I don't know what'll happen. Hell, this is just like college all over again if you ask me...
...but enough about me.
I want to hear about what all has gone on since I've last posted! Put up some replies! Throw some news at me! I don't know how long it'll be before I get ICQ on this thing but by all means, fill me in.
Thanks in advance!!!

Hiee. I even mentioned you recently in the birthday thread to Cein, so Happy Belated birthday! Stay safe alright, no matter what your plans. Seriously army? Why is that so popular? As for UO... You will join... *does whole hypnotize thing on you*

Yah she did totally try to troll my birthday thread by mentioning you! Get your own damn thread! LOL Happy Late Birthday sir!
Sounds like you did what I did when I joined the army. Just hang in there and it'll be over sooner than you think. A lot of good memories I have were from AIT. What's your MOS? I've been to a graduation in Ft. Knox, wish I could say I remember more than that we don't really have anything in the vault there. It was like 10 years ago though almost.
Keep in touch here, but I'll understand if you're too tired lol from PT in the morning and classes ALLLLLLL day. The military likes to cram 4 years of college into one, by making 40 hour weeks. You will probably be drained of energy often. Oh and.. No riding the buffers! It's dangerous!
And always remember... the drills love/live to embarrass you, it's part of their job. |

Congrats on making it through hell lol... been many moons since I went through myself but it will forever bring you memories to share with your kids someday. The studying was neverending and way worse than college lol.. I lived on coffee, cigs, and nodoze hahaha.. not very healthy.. In any case do take Cein's advise and stay away from the buffer... ummm it was scary and after one experience with it I hid from it therafter. I cant report much in UO as I have been in and out also, but we all come back at some point so I would bet on it we will see you again in time.. good luck with everything and stay awake in class.. gawd dont fall asleep!

So what has been going on since I last saw you guys? Any new guilds that've replaced the old ones? I saw that Sanctus is still around, and once again OES is out and about. Hooray for the good and evil community foundations!
What is the deal about this new "Stygian Abyss" game anyways? Did any of you guys buy it, and if you did is it worth the glamour its put out to be? (since most UO expansions aren't). Anyone still running a "guildless" guild that is at war with everyone? I might join it with Dan should I come back, but if I do come back its probably just going to be with Dan and only him because even though I could never really think of a way how to bring him back, I don't think I really care anymore and nobody remembers how he died anyways!
Also, does everyone still meet at Hanses? Is there still a weekly RP night for everyone to participate in? Fill me more in on the know, if you could. Anything I can't find out on these boards at least.
Thanks again!

(IMO) YES , SA is definitely worth getting. My favorite expansion so far.
We have tavern night every Monday. In the 'Great Assembly Hall' there is a sticky that tells where it is which weeks. This week it is at an npc tavern in Skara Brae.
I don't know if people hang out at Hanses.. I can't invite you to Charnel Hill, but I can invite you to Blackmarsh At Goodman's rune library in Zento there is a green book on the front steps with all the ARPC tavern locations in it. |

Long time Dan. Glad to see you are back. Vaen here. Beo and I have started up a large empire in Felucca called Blackmarsh. It's not a huge hindrance being in Fel, we rarely get any trouble from reds. So I know that's new since you've been gone. Also, the Protectorate/Regency has been disbanded, and the Maritime Union has been formed. OES is back in good force.
Come hang out at Bmarsh one of these nights if you get UO installed. Always had fun RPing with you. But whether you get UO installed or not, hit me up on icq... 243645339 _________________

I feel it is worth it. They added a ton of new content and upgraded the way crafting works in general.

Yes. I hold the stone, but it is for general ARPC use as a utility guild. I highly encourage all GMs of the com to put an alt in for emissary purposes.

There is a rotating tavern schedule posted in the General Assembly. |

Fort Knox how I loathe thee. If he is at Fort Knox for AIT then he is either a tanker or a Scout unless anything else has moved there since I was stationed there. |

Naw man, I just went over to Ft. Knox for my Basic Combat Training. I'm currently at Ft. Meade now, at AIT. I'm a 25 Romeo, which is a Visual Informaton Technology Operator/Maintainer. The wench of it is that they're trying to pressure me into going Airborne since all the units out there that need my MOS are practically almost all airborne units. If it comes down to it I just may to bite the bullet and start jumpin' out of planes, but we'll see what happens. Its not in my contract, so I don't have to do it if I don't want to.
What about you? What was/is your MOS in the Military? _________________ AKA: Gryss ab'Arawn

I'm not Sindreline, but I'll answer for me lol
I was a 31S - Satellite Communications System Operator/Maintainer. 36 weeks of AIT in Ft Gordon, GA. First time I'd ever gotten to see what a fire ant is. >.> Wouldn't you know it? Our PT field had tons of their mounds all over it. Sit ups = hell in that place. Not for the exercise, but the biting when you sit on them. |

I was a 92A Automated Logistical Specialist. When you go to dispatch a vehicle that is what I did for all 10 years except for a couple when I worked in the warehouse. |

You know, the other day I was going to a Flag Detail with some Marines as they were preparing for the "Retreat" of the day. As we were on the way to take the flag down, I asked one of the Marines what it was like over there on Paris Island, since I had only gone to Ft. Knox (or Ft. Hard Knocks, so I've heard it called here) and they told me that they didn't want to talk about it.
I also heard a rumor around here that the Air Force and the Marines aren't allowed to hang out with each other up here because too many Air Force girls end up pregnant. (Even Air Force guys! )
Suffice to say, being a Marine must be really tough. _________________ AKA: Gryss ab'Arawn
