I guess enough of you use vent that this is relevant. Vent normalization will compress volume so that people who have improper settings and are too loud or too quiet are all averaged. Sometimes you'll find people that are too quiet even after this, that is probably a hardware issue on their end, but I find that overall, this is a better solution.
Here's how:
- Go to Setup
- Enable Direct Sound
- Select the SFX Button
- Select Compressor and click Add.
- Under Compressor Properties use the following settings
- Gain = Adjust for how loud you want people to be. (I use 15, try that first)
I'm on windows XP. Mileage may vary on Vista or Win7, or different sound cards. It "should work" regardless.
If you already have a whole ton of people individually volume adjusted and they sound whacky after you do this, remove all those changes you put on them; combining volume control with the compressor usually makes people way too quiet.
Oh my gosh, could this even bring Cear down to a tolerable volume?? _________________ Why should the world be over-wise,
