The time had come for decisive action. He had an idea, a plan, one that could only enhance the welfare of Yew and other mainland Trammel nations which had languished in the shadow of Malas for so long.

Having spoken to King Sid and corresponded with others to discuss the prospects, Thraxas penned letters to him, Magnate Isk, Lady Ellesbeth, and Lord Tai Kwan:

"Greetings Esteemed Colleague,

I wish to invite you to a discussion of a proposal regarding the future of our homelands. Please make every effort to come to my home, Covenant Castle, tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. I will have a meal prepared for us to begin the proceedings. Please strive to attend and reply as soon as you may.

I believe you will find the topic most intriguing.

Best Regards,

Thraxas

Lord Regent of Yew"

Ellesbeth answers the door and takes the note from the messenger. As she reads the note she wonders what the meeting could be about. Taking a piece of parchment and a quill from the desk, she quickly writes a response:

Greetings Lord Regent Thraxas,

I am always interested in the well being and future of Yew and will be honored to join you for a discussion concerning this. Thank you for including me.

Sincerely,

Ellesbeth
Vestal Virgin of Virtue

After inserting the note into an envelope, she hands it to the messenger, who has been patiently waiting for her reply, and hands him a small pouch of coin for trouble.

Greetings Sir,

I regret that I did not recieve your letter in time to respond to your invitation. I would be happy to meet with you separately at another time to hear your ideas. Please respond at your earliest convenience.

Sincerly,

Sincerly,

Thraxas read the letter and replied to it:

"Your Grace,

My humblest greetings.

I do not wish to sound rude, but I did not send you a letter. Perhaps you got wind of the meeting from other sources? But it is a small matter... do not concern yourself with it, nor shall I.

However, there is something else we need to discuss, and that is the upcoming trial of your kinswoman, Kayla Ariesus. I have been quite busy of late and have had to put it off for a long time. As you are well aware, I have given her a lot of personal freedom, but she is never entirely out of my sight nor mind. She shall be tried at the Court of Truth in Yew. We can meet and I will give you a copy of her deposition and a detailed list of the items that shall be presented as evidence of her complicity in the murder of my twin brother. Whether or not that shall aid your case is up to you, but since Aleister Flagg is the prosecutor, I would highly recommend that you seek a plea bargain first. If you wish to do that, he, you and I can meet to talk over what that may be.

I can meet with you later this week if you wish? Send me word and we can meet at my home.

Please remember that no matter what I think of your kinswoman, I hold you in the highest regard. It is sad that one of your kin has faltered so badly. I pity that your name is tied to hers and do not pin any blame upon you, naturally.

Contact me at your convenience.

Your Servant,

Thraxas
Lord Regent of Yew"

Lord Regent,

I would like to hear what you have to say. Would this dinner be by the Eastern Sun Transcendant?

Tai Kwan
