Arahim,

I was told you were looking for me in regards to the workforce I am assembling. I should like to speak with you, as Umbra considers your band of gypsies to be friends of the crown.

I have also heard rumblings of problems you are having in Minoc. Is there anything I or my people can assist you with?

Simply dictate your answer to the orthon, or give it a parchment and it will return to me.

Herald of Oblivion
Warden of Umbra and the South Malasian Empire

Arahim regarded the mechanical creature with great marvel, smiling in spite of himself, like some child who beheld some new and fantastic toy.

When he reached out to tentatively touch the bird, it made soft whirring noises from within, but made no move to escape his hands.

Still enraptured by the curious messenger, Arahim wrote out a short response, as the thought of speaking his message aloud to this technological crow seemed somehow too silly to him.

Lord Dealthagar,

There are several items I feel compelled to speak to you about. I fear with the absence of Lady Lenoir, the tenuous bonds she so hoped would unite our people have frayed a bit. If Sunday, late at night, would serve I would be most willing to sit with you at a place of your choosing.

Til then,
Arahim

As Dealthagar read the message, a warm smile drew across his face. In Caina, it had been the Vistani. In Yew, it had been the Brotherhood. And now in Umbra, it was the Gypsies.

There would always be outsiders and outcasts that were willing to brook with those who didn't cowtow to the mindlessness of British's virtues. People that would work hard and toil honestly for a honest wage and sliver of respect. Arahim and his people were no different. Dealthagar wanted them in Umbra and Charnel Hill.

Arahim,

In Lady Ariana's absence, I am Lord over the city and Warden over the empire. I look forward to advancing, strengthening and repairing the bonds between our peoples. If any of your people are worried or have specific concerns, please, they are most welcome in my home, and in Umbra. I would be all too happy to meet with any of them.

As far as our meeting, Sunday eve would be most acceptable. I will meet you at the Umbra Moongate, and we can retire to my manor to speak at length. I look forward to it.

Giving the hand written note to the orthon, Dealthagar dismissed it with a wave on his hand. "Arahim of Minoc." The mechanical bird gave a metallic squawk and flitted out the window to deliver the letter.
