The grating of the large stone being slide back alerted Zeth to her return. He quickly blew out the candle and took his place at the foot of the stairs. As the shape of a woman siloutte, appeared he struck. The shovel cam down on the side of the womans head and she crumpled to the stone floor. Zeth started to approach the form laying on the floor but as it stirred he figured it was better to make his escape.
As he crawled up the stairs on hands and feet. Green flashes of light exsploded off the walls around him. a fireball singed his hair as it flew past. He could hear her cursing him as she tried to climb the stairs. Zeth entered the main cavern and ran strait for the door, knowing that she would be on his heals. As he burst throught the doors He closed his eyes as he made the leap off the cliff. Transforming in mid air it was not the clumbsy feet of a man that found the ice and snow below but those of a wolf. The wolf skated and slid down the cliff and when his feet hit the bottom he was at a dead run. Heading where he was not sure but he knew away from this place and that woman.
