Dang Cal, thats quite a pedegree you've racked up.
Liev Schreiber
Burt Reynolds (sans mustache)
Tom Cruise
John Stamos
Will Ferrell
Hugh Jackman
Viggo Mortensen
I'm still thinking Stamos was the best call so far. _________________

All joking aside, if Yasa is dating this...
I am seriously okay with that. _________________ (4:45:41 PM) Jarem: It becomes increasingly difficult to feel noble in my causes when my cause is to defend my charge from her own violent tendencies. |

If someone who has been in game for a month can do this, y'all old folks are slacking.

I don't agree with this. I haven't been able to come up with anything because I haven't interacted with many people in the community in game. _________________ Butter

You're in Blackmarsh. Don't you also play Yuna and Edda?
Between all those guilds and the people they play with, you don't know 10 characters? You don't know 10 other characters that you can picture in your minds eye? if not, then we need to get you RPing more! Bring a slave to Umbra, and we'll make a lasting impression. _________________

And don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to single anyone out.
I put this out there, becuase in the name of RPing and getting to know the other people in the game, this is a good way to express to the people you play with "Hey, this is the impression I got of your character".
If they don't like it, they can do things in the RP to change that impression. if they like it, then they're on the right track with where they want to go with the character.
One of the things i love about the community here in UO, is the RP goes to the bone. It is part and parcel of who the characters are. People aren't judged on how gimp thier build is, or how crap thier gear is in the ARPC. We judge each other for how well they RP, how well they personify that character, how they come across, how true they are to what they were yesterday, or last week, or a month ago.
Making a cool name, or having the right color hair, or really neat looking costuming on the character are all superficial things. Yes, they can stand out and be a big detractor, but the character is the thing.
In other RP communities I've played in, in other MMO's, you could toss down a "name your character's theme song" post or "cast MMO - The Movie" posts, and people would go crazy. Personally, i love it when people break the rules, and go over the constraints, becuase it means they are thinking. Thinking about thier character, thinking about other people's characters, thinking about the interaction.
Unscripted RP is the best kind - IMHO, but that doesn't mean you can't go into a situation already knowing what your character thinks, how they feel about certain subjects, thier attitude and prejudices against other people....
It puts meat on the bones, and makes them more real. More Real Characters = Better Interaction and Better RP.
And that's what we're all about in the ARPC, right?
A perfect example is Dealthagar and Cal Hurst. The two players have been on opposite sides of major conflicts forever. My earliest posts on this board denote the hostilities and baiting between Vaen and Dealth over Yew. Nowadays it's all about "stolen cloning materials" and the EVIL that is the Order. There's gonna be hostility, and banter beteen these guys, because they ae the antithisis of each other.
OOC, if i ever run into Cal IRL, I'm buying him a shot and a beer, becuase there are few foes I have had as much fun mentally sparring with as I have him. He's the sort of guy I would help move into his new apartment or house. (Ask Solonacae how big a deal that is to me)
Good consistant deep roleplay. It's what makes this game and this community so different.

Alright, but this is hard. Not just because of how the person is played, but finding a person who'd work playing that person!
Isk - Tommy Lee Jones
Rizzen - Errol Flynn
Greypawn - Sir Ian McKellan
Willow - Sienna Guillory
Malorn - Christopher Walken
Cear - Heath Ledger
Dragothian - Freddie Prince Jr.
Tay Thormier - Stanislav Ianevski
Joseph - Vin Diesel
Korin - Alexander Skarsgard _________________ (4:45:41 PM) Jarem: It becomes increasingly difficult to feel noble in my causes when my cause is to defend my charge from her own violent tendencies. |

Kal: Kathy Bates (Sorry, she has the ability to play a power hungry twisted woman. And Misery is sooo you.)
Merci: Lucy Lawless (Xena)
Myrrdin: (Sorry bro, limited on time. Have to think)
Felyn: India De Beaufort (Krod Mandoon)
Ceinwyn: Tilda Swinton (Narnia, the Ice Queen)
Tentative start.
For laughs:
Alaundril: Timothy Dalton (His performance in Hot Fuzz is excellent) |

Nope. I do not know 10 chars that are not mine well enough to assign them to actors.
Closest I got was choosing an entire cast for Blackmarsh.
And yes I am also Edda and Yuna. _________________ Butter

*cringes* Worst Phantom ever. Isk deserves someone who can act. _________________ (4:45:41 PM) Jarem: It becomes increasingly difficult to feel noble in my causes when my cause is to defend my charge from her own violent tendencies. |

Who do you hang out with in game? Start small. Pick a couple of them, and start from that.
This is meant to be fun, not work

Don't blame the actor, blame the casting crew and his acting coach! LOL
( hint to would-be directors in the com - next time someone does a musical production of phantom of the opera- get someone who CAN sing. the phantom was supposed to have a nigh on angelic voice (it's kinda the whole point) not a frog croaking his notes.. he also doesn't look nearly as hideous as he ought to.
After reading the book, owning the London soundtrack.. I bought that in good faith. I still love the movie.. but eh.. let down. Read the book after watching it, people, that's all I can say. |
