Greetings, Lady Regent
I write to you with a plea. It is most urgent that the Protectorate relinquish the lands that are currently contested by not only Stonegate and Blue Lotus, but Blackmarsh as well. The mark of a good leader is to know when he or she is defeated. Your men and women on the battlefield look exhausted, and I've even spoken with a few who wish these fights would end so they can go elsewhere and not fight a losing war. You have found yourselves outskilled, outnumbered, and outstrategized. To persist to march into a losing war does not show consecrated and strong leadership, but it shows overly prideful and selfish tendencies of a government that is willing to destroy itself entirely in a war it cannot win.
Luna is all but lost. It is not a city of light; it is no bastion of hope. It is a city of greed with vendors peddling their wares at exorbitant prices. But I am in no place to speak further on this subject.
Yew will fall in time. We have treated the citizen farmers in the lands in which we have taken extremely well. We can offer them protection from the harshness of the land that the Protectorate couldn't even dream of.
If you are dead-set on fighting for Luna and nothing can change your mind, then I urge you to look towards Yew. Prove to the world that you will not stand to work alongside the forces of Umbra, much unlike Sid who welcomed Umbran allies into his armies. Prove to the world that you are still worthy of holding the title of Regent by standing against your true enemy, Darrien Church.
You have two options here, Starfire, as far as I and Yew are concerned. They are as followed:
1.) Withdraw your Protectorate forces from Yew, boldly stating that the Protectorate will not work alongside Darrien's forces, or those who work for Darrien, regardless of the situation. Boldly stating that the Protectorate will not turn a blind eye to its very purpose in order to covet land that is never used. And finally, when Darrien comes knocking on your door, we may be able to help one another.
Or.
2.) Keep your forces in Felucca Yew to aid Sid. Let the world know that you will cast aside your morals, values, beliefs, and the entire purpose of the Protectorate for the endeavor. And when the time comes, and Darrien is knocking on your door, you will fight him alone. And you will meet a fate worse than death.
I await reply.
