Thraxas' special envoy to the King has delivered the following letter:
"Your Esteemed Majesty,
Greetings.
I pray all is well with you and the lovely queen. We have not been in contact of late but I have assumed you have been enjoying the brief relaxations that you may find between the battles.
I do not know if you have received any reports concerning the last skirmish, but I was there and can provide an eyewitness account. Suffice to say, it was brief and entirely one-sided. Although myself, Lady Regent Starfire, Magnate Isk and others of political stature were there to provide some leadership, your presence, and that of your personal troops, was missed. I must confess I arrived late but took part in the battle, if that is what it may be called. I will not criticize the troops, many of whom fought superbly, nor the leadership for the debacle; we were simply out-classed and heavily outnumbered.
I realize you have placed me in power to govern Yew in your absence. I also realize I have no actual holdings in Yew, Felucca, that would warrant a personal claim to property or title there; and you do. Still, as current head of the government of Yew, it is my advice to you that Yew, Felucca, be given over to Blackmarsh entirely. I have been in contact with the Mayor and he is willing to forego any claims to Yew, Trammel, and will not participate with his troops in any attack upon it from another source. I find this to be quite generous as he had no reason to offer it since he has the upper hand.
If you do not block my decision in this matter, I will commence immediate and formal dialogue with him to make the transition of power go as smoothly as possible.
If you block this decision, by veto or fiat, or do not respond soon, I must assume you wish to continue the war. If so, I can guarantee we will lose everything and gain nothing. In addition, out of sheer spite, he may wish to lead a direct attack upon Yew, Trammel in league with others, or alone, to lay claim to it. You may welcome that challenge, but I do not. Continued resistance against overwhelming odds in a war over a virtual wasteland of anarchy, does not look like a point of honor, but madness. I do not mean to offend, your Highness, I am merely stating the obvious.
Please share your thoughts with me on this.
Your Servant,
Thraxas
