Ladies and Gentlemen, I give to you, King Sid.
King Sid is a renowned member of the Protectorate. Many of you stood behind him when he wished to become Regent, and voted in favor of Starfire over Orelen because Starfire backed Sid, while Orelen did not. However, are you all aware of the lengths that Sid will go to do things that he deems necessary? Are you aware that he will cast aside all distinctions of right and wrong, only so he can attempt to be victorious in battle?
In the recent battle for Yew, Sid employed the swords of men who are known to be allied to Umbra. I will say this again, ladies and gentlemen of the Protectorate and its allies. Lord Sid has employed enemies of the Protectorate. Is this the type of leader that you will stand behind? One who, instead of standing and fighting for what he believes in, runs to the LICH LORD for help?
Ladies and gentlemen of the Protectorate, never in the history of the Protectorate itself has a move even been motioned, nevermind done on a whim. But King Sid has seen it fit to sell his soul and his honor in order to covet land.
Be cautious, Loyalists and Allies. One never knows what he has offered your enemies in exchange for their help. He cannot be trusted.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give to you, King Sid. Your future Regent. |

Isk read the letter wile holding it with his shaking left hand, his eyes darting here and there as they hardly could remain focused on the same line, word for word. He was leaning forward from his kneed position chasing that high which he could never find since weaning off drugs. The noose was tight around his neck as he inched forward from the post of his bed even more. Grunting, cutting off more of the blood to his head, he could feel himself reaching closer and closer attaining the physical high but not quite making it to that special destination his mind entered on Utopia. A coarse but relaxed breath escaped him.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I give to you, King Sid. Your future Regent.” Isk gargled before caught by choked laughter. He straightened his back and blinked the ecstatic tears from his eyes. It was a joy in more ways than one to read that the world was entering that fantastic state of disorderly chaos which always lead to something new and interesting to eventually watch die anew.
“…and as per usual only I, Isk, the Magnate of Magincia, can see that this uncontrollable dance spins off the illusion that there is a threat in Malas Umbra.”
He arched his head back until he felt the post of his luxurious bed, breathing hard he set the paper to the carpet to clean the mess he’d made. |

Thraxas read the letter and contemptuously set fire to it. He was fully aware of the use of Umbran forces in the recent battle, as Itannar had informed him of it. But he had no need to be told, for he, himself, had sought their aid. He reasoned that the enemies of the Protectorate were those who currently attacked its member states, not those of the past, nor even the ones considered "traditional." "The enemy of my enemy is my friend," he muttered, and went back to work, not giving the matter another thought. _________________ "If a criminal has what you want, you do business with him." |

Having made his own deal with darkness, so to speak, King looks upon this letter and remembers his own anquish. When you become one of the Undead, even if for a good cause, you lose a part of yourself, your humanity, but you gain the strength to do what must be done.
"These are dark days," he mumbles to himself, "dark days indeed. Many more dark alliances must be made if the world we care about is to be saved."
Thinking that some might not understand his choices, he has but to laugh, in a dry cackling laugh from an undead throat parched and needing to feed.
"I wonder what price this fool would pay for his Honor," he muses, as he heads deep into the abyss to settle his own lust for blood. _________________ Without Honor there is Nothing... |
