I'm working on a web page for two things right now. 1.) The guys and I in vent are playing Modern Warfare 2 for the PC and might extend it into some league play in the future. We're searching for a team to join right now, or we might just form our own. Regardless, I'm setting up this page for our division, or our team as a whole. 2.) Final project in Web Design class is to make our own webpage. So, 2 birds, 1 stone. Looking for layout and presentation critiquing only right now. Thanks in advance Smile

Things to note:
- The title text both on the title bar and above the iframe are only placeholders right now.
- The links do work. They push over into the middle of the page in the iframe.

-List of ideas presented to me-
1: Do something with the links. Either pictures, or some sort of prettied font. Or a picture of a link with an uncommon font.
2: Darken the top logo. ((Done))

I do webwork myself - couple of suggestions:

[1] header should be better done - I know you say it's a placeholder so I would expect tighter font with a military feel - steelish
[2] reduce links - i didn't look at the code but it looks like your mousover events is triggered by the cell (did you use tables?) reduce this to a pic and use the mouseover to activate/inactive...it will be much tighter and look better
[3] love the in/out design with opacity on the main cell - i use a similar message area approach
[4] you might want to lighten up the background a little - with such dark backgrounds, people's eyes tend to have trouble adjusting to lighter layouts

other than that - good start. If you want to talk technique - let me know...here's a sample of some work i've done

http://www.freewebs.com/eastlandcoalition/

I use alot of the recommended stuff I put in the above so if you want some sample code etc..and like you said 'copy and i kill you'

Thanks for the tips Tay. And yeah, the header is sort of a joke right now. Silly font with a silly title to it. I'm waiting to find a good font. If you have any in mind, let me know. None of the standards work for what I want.

I reduced the link sizes from 18 to 14 and made the canvaz fit-to-size.

I'm not too worried about the background personally, though. I might lighten it a little, I don't know. But once everything is put into place as far as content goes, it shouldn't be a big problem. We'll see though.

Thanks again.
