A wisp brings a copy of a letter to Cal Hurst, attached to it is a note from Merci.

Dear Cal,

Please read over the following letter and let me know exaclty how when this contract was paid private Dealthagar has gathered information that leads him to Stonegate. I would appreciate any insight you can give to us. Also, Cal just as a side note, I am ever so tired of the dog references.... hasnt anyone got anything better, if he knew anything about Stonegate he would know the Lycan ratio to other types like undead is very low.

If in the bizarre off chance you man is an innocent bystander in this, and this was some clumsy attempt at diplomacy, I would suggest speaking with Lady Ariana Lenoir. You will find her to be far more accommodating and hospitable than I am.

If you have a response, simply put it in this case and set it in the snow in front of the building where this was dropped. My orthon will retrieve it and return it to me. if you have nothing to say, fire an arrow at it as it circles your skies, it will return to me.

I am not the sort to threaten, nor am I the one to start a war of words or blades. But you cannot expect these sorts of ridiculous intrusions to go unchecked.

I know not how he knows that we carried it out. None of my men used Stonegate's name during our attack, nor were we followed at our debriefing. If you ask me, the man's more full of crap than the demonspawn at your tavern last night.
