The dog stands next to the doorway, his playful eyes darting between all the humans walking around. Occasionally a vampire bat comes, and he gives chase. For the most part, though, he waits patiently, a letter tied to his collar.

To Vian,

I had heard stuff that upset me today. Not sure if it's real or not, but you gotta say, either way, you didn't agree with it. Not sure if asking you to not agree will actually do anything, but I'm hoping. So, sorry this lettter is brisk. My cousin's with me in a chest, and I'm not sure really how long before it wakes up.
