The chants from the Stygian Grove could be heard rippling through Umbra as a strange storm begin to collect around the City of Necromancers. Waves of dark essence made a journey from every source and font of Necromantic and Entropic energy in area. From the tip of the Ebon Spire to the depths of the Well of Souls scores of dark wisps of energy poured into a single tower on the edge of the city. Moments later an arcane phrase in the drowish language pierced the night air as a blast of Entropic energy poured into the sky.
All over the Stygian Grove, the thousands of carved, painted and enchanted ruins that littered the buildings began to resonate with the release of power. As they absorbed the energy, their colors began to shift to shades of sickly green and red as a dark and misty miasma began to spread through the Grove choking local wildlife and raising up a host of necromantic perversions of the once normal flora and fauna. A feeling of palpable dread, hate and anger began to suffuse the region as a dark procession of Servants of the Undead left the tower, heading towards Morn Cirith. None of them showed any signs of concern or reaction to the sudden change. To those of the Undead, a new force was at work within the Stygian Grove, nothing more. For all others however, a dark cloud had descended.
