Tatiana sat beside Arakad. She lightly laid her hand underneath his and sang. When she tired of that, she would talk to him. Endless hours of it. He would be well in time and until that moment, he would need her here. Tatiana spoke of their child, growing now in her womb. She smiled softly as she joked with Arakad. "I suppose it will be obvious to all when I bear our child in seven months that we were celebrating our wedding before the wedding." She gave a rueful smile and continued to talk to Arakad. Terrified of causing him pain, she only allowed that small touch of her hand under his. He would need that touch, to know she was there. Tatiana continued to sit for hours beside her beloved with idle chatter, hoping it would bring him peace and calm in his pain. _________________ aka: Tatiana Thorn nee Alexi; Summer Kane; Ivory Skyfire; and others |

The torture still tormented the mind of the man as he huddled in the cloak that the Mayor had laid over him, his body a bloodied mess of flesh and healing bone, his own regenerative powers fighting off the Kindred craft - until a vampire of another sort appeared to aid him. Without Darkhavens help ... and the added aid of Gerard - the man wouldn't have survived the night. And not survive he was willing to do - He couldn't stand by and allow another to be tortured because of him, with knowledge that another had been taken in his place. He had willingly given himself to the Lich Lord.
This was his doing.
In and out of consciousness he came through out the night as he heard the soft whispers of his love, his wife .... wife ... echoing to him. Soothing him, a voice soft as the angels and nearly as pure. It was her strength that kept him from fading out. Her love. Her Trust.
As dawn came through the window to glance over his eyes, he sat up quickly - roaring quietly in pain from the tension in his back. Muscles renewed that have never been used before. He looked down at the weight in his lap to notice his wife laying there her red hair over her face, her cheeks soaked in tears. Passed out from exhaustion.
Slipping from the sheets, he picked his beloved up and laid her gently onto the bed, tucking her under and brushing her hair from her face so it would not be matted by the time she awakes. A night that was ment to be joyous turned into a nightmare, but a nightmare of a life he has been used to. But she has been a light in the darkness, someone that could pull him free from the turmoil and the tortures. Someone that could love him without remorse and guilt.
Sliding a hand down the abdomen of his wife to her hands that laid over her stomach, he gave an true smile, so much like the ones that have been common on his face these last weeks. She was with child, his child - and she is his wife. Never will she want, need or have a wish not fullfilled. Never will his child be brought into the tormented life he lived. Things will be different, his life as a new purpose.
Stepping to each corner of the small bed chamber he ran a black taloned finger over the tiles as he whispered incantations into the room. He was taught the skills from, ironicly, a Lasombra, and now he would turn it against those of his former mentor's type. All he needed ... was the Vitae.
Woe unto those that come between a Lion and his pride. |

She had gone in the night and followed the determined little spark. She found the mess of Arakad and had recognized the talent used upon him. He could not die. She would not permit it. He knew things that she did not yet know.
She scooped up Arakad's misshapen form and bade for Yasa to find a room. Kelly placed the unconscious form of Arakad onto the bed. She slid her hands beneath the robe to touch his skin. Then she worked her magic. Others came in behind her but they kept distance Kelly could feel the flesh, bone and tissue give way to her as if clay. She slowly sculpted his back to what it once was, repairing his ribs and removing the spikes. For now, you could rest easier. She thought.
Kelly looked to Yasamin and the others. "He needs rest but he is far from out of the woods. I need to return to him to finish undoing what was done. " She turned to Yasa. "It is not often we are called upon. Give this to him should he wake." Kelly handed a small sealed vial to her. "Make him drink it. If he asks...tell him its vitae. It will help sooth his pain." With that said, Kelly went outside and bumped into Tatiana. She explained to her what was done, about the vial, and then shooed her inside to be with him.
Kelly had done what she could to save Arakad. He could not be allowed to die. They, after all, did have an agreement to teach each other a few things. She smiled. She could not allow a friend to suffer.
Once back home she went to her lab and pulled an empty vial out. She stuck her fingertip inside and let it bleed until it was full then sealed the vial. "Arakad. You are lucky." She went to her crypt and opened the golden chest and placed the vial among her vast collection of blood vials.
She went to her coffin to rest after securing her home. The morrow would bring more fun. |
