The Infinite Mercenary Company gathered around Cal Hurst in their hall to discuss the recent contracts.
"This is what we have men. Sanctus is hiring us to help them take out Darrien. The payment is that the warrant out on Ragnar will be destroyed. Also, Moonglow is hiring us to protect their island. The payment there is 500,000 gold per mercenary per skirmish, and 1,000,000 gold per mercenary per battle involving the conquest of land. Now, we've all heard the reports of some sort of barrier surrounding whatever the undead have in their area. However, there's a solution for that. Henry, if you wouldn't mind?"
Cal snapped his fingers, and a middle-aged man came in, wheeling in a wheelbarrel with several pieces of blackrock loaded into it of various sizes.
"No magic on this world, God-given or God itself, can withstand the anti-magic power of blackrock. This will either destroy the barrier, or bring it down for a significant amount of time. Enough time for us to get in there and do what we need to do, anyway. Everyone capable of casting high level magery spells with little effort will be equipped with one of these should we find ourselves on their doorsteps."
Cal snapped his fingers again, and the middle-aged man wheeled the wheelbarrel into the back room.
"Until then, we have an isle to defend." _________________

Sarian nodded his agreement.
It had been a while since he'd met anyone in battle. The last he could remember, was when he was fighting -against- Sanctus. Now he was fighting for them, to insure the freedom of a new Comrade. He was slightly pleased that Moonglow had hired them to exterminate the orc problem as well.
Their wait was over. Two contracts had been signed. Both proved to be valuable in their own way. Both allowed The Infinitemen to do what they did best.
