Carefully reading through the ritual Kaelthir had given him, Izrem found himself skipping through large sections of it. This pyre ritual was the same as the one he had done many times before. Many times. No need to get bogged down in the specifics and minutia of Kaelthir's particular permutation.

Recalling into Skara Brae, Izrem quickly found a few eager helpers to begin the collection effort. Skara Brae had always been an easy place to carry out ritualistic encantations, partly because the insular nature of the island made them unaware of the Order at large, but mostly because its "ruling nation" rarely if ever actually sent patrols through it. It made the city, as a whole, strangely sympathetic to masters of the arcane such as himself. Izrem was confident there would be no interruptions.

Setting the hapless assistants to work, Izrem need give only slight encouragement for them to quickly gather the needed supplies.

Izrem departed as the two workers continued, in search of a proper blood and meat sacrifice. The island proved strangely without active wild life to use, forcing Jarem to search the shores of Jhelom. While he found no wild life he did find a cow set to pasture. Izrem shrugged as he prepared a simple spell. "Good enough."

Returning to Skara Brae Izrem found his workers had completed their task. Bringing the gathered resources to the bank, Izrem prepared the incantations.

As the alter continued to collect around him, Izrem's chanting became quicker, taking on a guttural reverberation which seemed to echo in his words. The normally subdued purple fringe of his eyes flared bright as eddies of mana coalesced around him. Intoning the words "In Flam" the pyre began to smolder then burn around him.

Never wishing to pass up an attempt to expound on the greatness of Oblivion, Izrem called out to the town in a loud voice. It was less important that they people understood what he meant, rather simply they saw a display of power.

As far as the ritual was concerned, Izrem was done. But he had done this many times, after all. With a light smirk Izrem's eyes flared once more as the streamers of smoke begin to swirl around him. For some neonate in the ways of the Ebon Skull they simply would have left the pyre to burn and walked off. Izrem didn't consider himself an arrogant sort, but even he sometimes fancied himself much more learned than the vast majority of those that served the order. Inhaling deeply, Izrem prepared for his finale.

The blue mist spread quickly through out the town as the word of the Order echoed through the streets and alleyways of the city. Spreading his arms, he released a wave of mana, scattering the remnants of the Pyre through the city. As the citizens covered their heads and looked away to avoid the sudden storm of ash, Izrem incanted the spell of Recall and vanished. As the people opened their eyes they saw only the charred stone where the Pyre had been and the bluish haze that crept around slowly through the town, uncertain of what had happened or what was to come.
