Ariana sits quietly, penning a response with a quill dipped in azure ink. Her face bore no emotion as she wrote.

Lord Arahim,

I feel inclined to apologize for the lateness of my reply. However be assured it is not a lack of desire to converse with you, but merely my forced attention to pressing matters has had me quite preoccupied. I, of course, would welcome a chance to sit and speak with you on whatever delicate subject your honor seems hinged upon. I have in the past enjoyed our talks and always enjoyed your company and kinship when I stood beside the Prince. Should the location be acceptable to you, I will receive you at my house where we may speak in private. You remember where it is, obviously.

She read over the letter several times as if she were making a judgment upon its sincerity. She paused before penning a response, a slight flicker of irritation in her eyes before it is quickly plunged once again behind the facade of unemotional resolve.

Arahim,

I accept your apology for your choice of tone and words last evening. Please see that it is nay made habit as I hold little patience for such offenses.

I am far more capable than you appear to give me credit for and my decisions have never come lightly. As my father said once, "The nature of our being is both our blessing and our damnation. We have the power to choose the path we take and the horrific imagination to fabricate the dangers it may hold. The world is not as black and white as the fables in the books we read as children. Our world is both horrible and wondrous at the same time. The world shifts through the gray spectrum with the kaleidoscope of individuals whom perceive it. The truth of diversity is not that which is complicated by race, religion or social class. It is simply the difference of choice. Those who choose their path and do not allow their freedom to do so dictated by fear or ignorance and those who fear choice itself."

I will endeavor to be available late in the evenings should you still desire to speak in private.
