My sister, Sia and Yia, was contacted by Ailish of Napa today, Ailish talked to her in a conversation about her husband and kids and seemed very much like Ailish. However, Ailish has since posted that her icq was hacked today.

The person that talked to my sister got her account info from her and proceeded to steal her blind. She has lost many many valuable items. It is very sad. She is a bit Naive and I have since spoken to her but again she beleived this to be her friend.
I can not confirm or deny if Ailish is telling the truth I have read the icq history and the person did know alot of irl information of Ailishes. One of my guild members has come over from napa and has said that she has had a few Sketchy moments with Ailish. However, we can not confirm or deny that she is telling the truth or not.
So I wish to warn you as Ailish is a reporter on Napa and her icq is well known to many people. Please heed her warning above and if you have that icq please delete it.
It is sad that this happened to my sister, I wish I had been home to help and protect her, as I have always been her guardian. *sighs*
I have sinced changed all her passwords and safeguarded what things she has left but I wanted to make you all aware.

It saddens me very much that we will all have to learn lessons like this. On the bright side, we are now a little wiser. Getting her things replaced will be a pain, but hey Liz is worth it. *grins* Hon, you know I will do what I can to help rebuild suits and such.

yeah i lost alot of stuff somestuff that had special to me cause like replic robe my sis and willow gave me cause i want one secoundly etheral unicorn i been wait a year to get one and now i have none etheral
i will get it rebuild everything is replaceable i am just so glad they didnt mess up or even delete siayia omg that would crush me you know how much work went into them thank god also still have my house and all stuff in it |

This is very kind of you all I am going to try to help her replace stuff but some of the armour and weaps well in luna they were worth alot.
Icq me and we will talk perhaps I can buy some stuff for her at a slightly reduced price.

I have had gold donated by an anonymous source I will begin building suits for her again. And of course thankyou to the community and you anonymous sorts helping out.
But again I just want to say, this wasnt to get her items back, it is to warn people that icq is having alot of hackings right now, and the people you think are them is not.
So just watch out.

When I was in San Diego, I got a bunch of weird spam in a request to add someone. It looked like the person was trying to break/exploit ICQ somehow, it's possibly an ICQ bug that is causing the hackings. If you know people who have been hacked, ask them if they were using the ICQ client. If it's an exploit with the program, it might be worthwhile to get people to switch from it to Trillian or Pidgin. |

just know, anyone can get your IP on prolly any program if you do a file transfer of any kind.

As the aforementioned guild member, I will conform that there was a questionable situation with Ailish, her husband, and their former guild. The situation involved our respective guilds. It was the general consensus, based upon the conflicting things we were told, that we were lied to by one or more parties involved.
However, none of them ever tried to get my account information. None of them ever tried to scam me. None of them have ever even stolen from me, via legal game mechanics.
The information I was initially given by "Sia and Yia", compiled with my previous experiences, led me to believe that Ailish was capable of doing this and so I thought she had.
Now, having more information and the actual transcript of what occurred, I do not believe that Ailish was the one who asked "Sia and Yia" for her account information and stole her items. |
