OK, so I'm working Skylar some. She has always been swords/tactics/parry etc. I am re-working her just a tad and taking chiv but otherwise staying the "warrior" type. OK so my problem comes into getting gear. Are there any sets to be on the lookout for that are really good? I seem to be getting one-shot a lot and can't hold up fighting stuff I used to solo constantly.

If you really want a "set" for medium-to-high end PVM the Virtue set isn't all that bad and it's relatively easy to get (or cheap to buy the pieces for).

But the armor sets really aren't super fabulous for just a regular, RP-style, warrior build. You can put together a decent PVM suit yourself just shopping the vendors with runic kit-made stuff for sale (or getting/using a runic kit yourself if you have a tailor). That's assuming you'll wear medable leather armor and you don't care about it not being "heavy" armor (if your RP calls for Skylar to be in heavy armor).

It depends on what you're fighting but 70's in all your resists is a must. Defence Chance Increase is good. +Str, +Stam are also good defensive specs.
These are all good things for defense.

You'll want +mana, +int, mana regen, health regen, swing speed increase, hit lower defense and lower mana cost---as much as you can get of any and all of these. Some of it isn't as crucial if you've got med/focus in your template.

Also, what you can kill is most largely dependant on your weapon than anything else. IF you're doing swords or fencing you're in luck as really good weapons in both of those categories are amazingly plentiful and cheap (runic hammers must be all over the place, I guess).

Look for Swing Speed Increase, Hit Mana Leech, Hit Life Leech, Hit Stamina Leech, Damage Increase of 40% or more, Hit <spell> and Hit Chance Increase.

Alot of fighter templates today revolve around a good weapon that will a) give you SOMETHING back at least half the time you hit something (mana, stam or health) and b) some sort of Hit <spell> to boost damage. With weapons being what they are today, the best defense is really a good offense. Smile

Short answer: Forget "sets" and just put a suit together with full 70's resists and find yourself a nice weapon with as many mods as you can! Smile

I can actually show you a really good vendor that sells dirt cheap armor. I mean, 100k per piece. The kinds of stuff you see selling in Luna for 1mil or more each! I don't think too many people know about him because his vendor is in the middle of nowhere in Tram. Smile

I don't really RP Skylar as much of a fighter, doing this is giving me the option of recall because I've been having to have Kain gate me every-frakkin'-where I go! And to let me build up fame/karma and such for the IC title Lady and the OOC just...when I want to fight. hehe

IC Skylar wears dresses or other "fashion" so I usually cover my armor anyway. And I have a set of Leather made by "Hand of Virtue" from many moons ago. Mostly I just wanted something to fight in.

Thanks for the advice...I'm just horrible at looking at the stats and such since we've been away.

as suits go i wouldn't enteraine the virtue suit at all... for one it is ugly as hell and two in the way of mods it gives 70's and thats it

How is Skylar's armor treating her now? It wasn't the greatest thing ever, but it was solid. Got her good resists and DCI/HCI.

Yeah, I'd like to see this vendor too but sadly I dropped by his house a few days ago and he's taken it down to just the foundation and his vendor is gone.

That said, I bought about 25 various pieces from him when his vendor was up just to try to put together a couple full 70's suits with some decent bonus stats. If you or Skylar still need a suit I can probably throw together something for ya. Lemme know!

It's not bad, but she's away right now. I just want to work on a better set for Dayn so I can take him to do stuff like champ spawns, etc. Right now his biggest problem is mana.

40 lmc, 6 or 7 mr on suit with 80 or 90 med (Pref with wraith and wisp) never run out of mana again
