The young Warlord with strong Gypsy blood has aways been a believer in the gifted readers, one he sees frequently a young Gypsy woman. She was gifted with insight into the past, the future and many things no one knows, the elders found this talent in her and she became the most sought after reader in the Ilshenar tribe the High Priestess.
Shalcross frequently went to her before battles, fights or other events for her insight. This fascination may be his greatest flaw, his fixation with Tarot card readings.
This night he sought her out in her wagon outside of the Spirituality shrine.
"Greetings young Shalcross, sit, remove your hood, and tell me what have you come to me for?"
Slowly lowering his hood he looks at her and says, "Tell me High Priestess What do you see for the next meeting of myself and Prince Vian Skyfire?"
The woman drew seven cards laying them slowly and deliberatly in a half circle shape in front of her. Each card representing something:
The First the past
Second the present
Third the hidden
Fourth the Obstacles
Fifth the Enviroment
Sixth The best course of action
Seventh The outcome
The first card, she reveals an upright Seven of Wands a man holding a wand with six others at his feet; she looks up at Shalcross,
"It shows in the past you started on a journey...an important and difficult journey, containing great hardships and powerful competition."
The second card reveals a Revered Eight of Swords, depicting a person bound to a fence.
"The present shows of frustration, little reward in your efforts. You are moving further from the situation, and you will not find the answer you're looking for here."
She lifted the third card and upon it shows a Devil figure sitting atop a throne with two bound people at the its feet, this card is reversed.
"Something very dark and evil is hidden from you, true evil will effect you and your decisions, abuse of authority, uncontrolled ambition. This card shows this situation controls you more than you know."
The fourth card showed a man standing next to nine wands, one of them being held in his hand, reversed, this is the nine of wands.
"You must overcome poor health Shalcross, almost certain difficulty, inability to accept what is."
The fifth card reveals an upright image of an Empress atop a throne.
"Good things are seen with your friends and mostly your family, I see a pregancy of a friend greatly affects the situation. But how is uncertain."
The sixth card Reveals an upright image of an angel with a trumpet above the clouds, above people.
"The judgement card shows an improvement in your ways would be the best course of action an Awakening to new ways."
The final and seventh card, the one card Shalcross was waiting for, the likely outcome of his next run in with the young Prince Vian. She reveals a reversed image of an angel pouring water from one goblet to another, this is the card of Judgement.
"Much volatility I see, much instability in the outcome. A disagreement and restlessness which will cause a physically stressful outcome."
After digesting the reading Shalcross gives a small nod, "Thank you Priestess." The reader picks up the cards and returns them to the deck.
"Take care Shalcross, return soon."
With silence Shalcross lifts his hood and quickly returns to Umbra, where there is much to be done. _________________ Shalcross |
