Blue eyes shone from behind the shadow, as the heat penetrated the dark region. A small boy, no older than nine, came running about, asking for her blatently to all around. Seriously, she was going to have to kill Samon. Doesn't he know the meaning of vacation? Yasa stepped out from behind the bar, and gave her sassiest smile, looking at the boy.
"I'm Yasa," she said, winking to the boy. He blushed, looking up at her and mumbled, handing her a letter. She openned it and sighed. Stupid Samon.
To my lord Emperor Tai,
Greetings from Moonglow. (Yasa looked around the dank bar, then shrugged. Close enough.)
I write to you with the utmost respect. After having reviewed the claim regarding Nu'jhelm, it is my duty to inform you that we have decided against pursuing any claim upon the land due to the claim had in fact been abandoned in prior circumstances. The claim has since been dropped and we are instead pursuing other areas of interest and acknowledge your claim upon the lands.
If you have any questions regarding the issue, feel free to contact the Mayor, Samon Triest, and he will explain in further details the intricacy of the claim of inheritance we discovered while pursuing this matter.
In regards,
Yasamin Bedouin
Chancellor of Moonglow
Yasa snickered as she signed the letter. What do chancellors do anyway? Write really overly inflated letters? She handed the boy the letter, and instructions to deliver it to Tai. With a quick grin, she turned, and walked back to her chair, sadly lacking the comfort the shadow had previously brought. _________________ (4:45:41 PM) Jarem: It becomes increasingly difficult to feel noble in my causes when my cause is to defend my charge from her own violent tendencies. |

After Tai received the messenger in the Palace's kitchen, and having the boy read the letter to him twice, the small dark skinned white haired man invited the boy to enjoy the food laid out on the dining table.
The boy ate as if he had not eaten in days.
Tai Kwan pushed around a bit of food on his trencher.
"Careful with the wasabi. It can be somewhat hot" Tai said just as the boy placed a ball of the green horseradish paste into his mouth.
The messenger did well in covering his discomfort and almost had himself convinced he would live as he swore to never eat that green goop again.
He managed to convince himself he could breathe normally after a few short minutes.
“Boy, are you okay” Tai Kwan asked while pouring him some water.
The boy looks up timidly and says, “I am. Are you really an Emperor?”
Tai chuckled lowly and said, “Some call me that, others do not. In the end it is only good for getting good seats at boring meetings.”
Then the short man stood up and said, “sumimasen, please to follow me.”
They walked down the hall and down the stairs to the library and over to a table with parchment and various inks and brushes and quills.
“Can you write in common” the Emperor asked the boy.
He nodded, “I can.”
“Hai, please to be writing down what I say” Tai said.
The boy chose a quill and pulled some parchment over and dipped it in a deep cobalt blue ink.
Chancellor of Moonglow
Celestial Bedouin
Your letter pleases me as I have the deepest respect for the Moonglow I have come to know in the last few years. I hope this issue will not prevent our continuing good relations.
I am interested in hearing what Citizen Mayor Triest and yourself have discovered in relation to this hereditary claim.
If this can be arranged I would be honored to meet.
Yours in service to the realms,
Tai Kwan _________________ "He's been fired from the Shrimp Boat?" -- Charlaine Harris "Living Dead In Dallas." |
