Greetings all.

I've just recently started back up with UO after quitting way back in 2001. Needless to say, much has changed and I am trying to come to grips with it all. I am a former resident of Napa Valley, with a few accomplished characters including a GM Mage, GM Smith, and a nearly GM Fisherman. I've been looking for something new to do, and somehow I stumbled across the RP community on Atlantic, and reading that it was extremely active and vibrant, I decided to make a character on this server with the intent of becoming involved in all of the fun.

A question that I see has been asked here many times by other returning players, would be inquiries about the different guilds. I have looked, and then looked even more, through most of the guilds that seem active on this website, and I just cannot decide what would be best for me. I am an extremely independent and resourceful individual, and by no means need my hand held through most anything. I will go ahead and post a small list of questions that are running through my head at the moment. It won't be long, I promise!

1. Not exactly a question, but I would like to hear from guilds that won't mind helping me learn the ropes again and get me back up to speed. In other words, which ones are noob friendly? Smile
2. Are there any guilds that do not allow a member to have the chivalry skill? Obviously this question is aimed more towards the evil/chaotic type guilds.

Ok, I will stop at two to keep it short as promised! As for my RP ability, I wouldn't say I am well versed in it, but I did do it somewhat here and there back in the day. I definitely need to practice more though, that is a fact.

Anyways, I will leave it at that for now. Thank you in advance for all of your help and I do look forward to meeting all of you in the game, and finding a new family to explore this great game with once again. Cheers!

to answer your questions...I would imagine there is not a guild here that wouldnt be willing to take in a player, new or returning and help them learn the ropes. The BL itself actually has a sub guild we use for just that. We tend to get a lot of new players, and before involving them in wars and such, put them in the OBL to train skills and learn their craft till they are ready to get into things full force.

secondly i cannot answer that question for everyone else but BL does not say what you -cant- have we say what you -must- have. as we are a ninja only clan you must have ninja hiding and stealth to join. not necessarily right away as one can sped time building those skills in the OBL.

hope that helps a bit and if you have any other questions that i may be able to help you with please feel free to contact me. 4571444201.

Well the Blue Lotus is the ninja only clan for sure, BUT! We also have an army and a citizen guild. The army is for samurai, warriors without ninjitsu, tamers, mages, everything. The citizen guild is mostly crafters so far. Take the Makoto-Jima moongate and head on the path that leads west, you will come across our dojo as soon as you've left city lines. There's almost always someone there. I'd be willing to help you through rp, its easy to get the hang of.

Welcome back!

Realm of Umbra is an evil based guild, and we do allow chivalry for the simple fact of being able to use any means necessary to extinguish our enemies. While I would personally like to see the guild become more undead in nature, we have a good mix of races, from human to undead to demon. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to have necromancy to join us.

I look forward to seeing you in game.

MTC is awesome. I won't go into details, because I am lazy. But you don't even have to join MTC if you need help. Just ICQ me at 58838424, and I will do what I can to help you.

It's alright to ask questions here. As you can see, most love to help others. Very Happy Almost all guilds accept chivalry, even the evil, just do to they love corrupting the good. Wink I won't go into which guild to join; just join the one that feels right. Every guild loves getting a hold of a new person who wants to learn. Just meet the people and pick who feels right to you. Very Happy

The zog cabal, with respect to the dark paladin Jou'Nar sees chivalry as acceptable everywhere. especially if your hell bent on ending all life in sosaria because its a good thing Smile
really tho. even if you dont wanna join hit me up in ICQ 149992929. were a small group who consider all members close friends. if you wanna learn the ropes again holler, well grab some torches, tame some spiders, and take down a horde of lizardmen in the lost lands and rescue a maiden.... or accidentally killer in all the confusion. which is what usually happens.

Warm greetings back to you,

I debated on posting a response about what our guild is, as I dont like to *plug* my guild. But you did ask for guild info and perhaps in the future we will meet up in rp no matter what your guild affiliation, at least I hope that with any person that returns or is new.

Stonegate is a guild of Warriors, crafters, mages. We accept all types of *races* and magical and physical abilities into the guild. Because we are in the mountains of malas other than focusing on a warrior type family of fighters, we also have set up a mining operation.

If you would ever like to visit or anyone for that matter I would be happy to provide a rune. We are a newer guild so we are starting up and still in some areas putting ourselves together.

133506832 is my icq, I look forward to seeing you in game and anyone who returns. Glad to have you back,.

As for help or showing the rope I would happy to do that no matter whose guild you join as rp benefits us all.

Send me an ICQ anytime and I will do all I can to help you get started. I can also be found in Sanctus, located at the caves between Umbra and Luna, on either Tatiana Alexi or Ivory Skyfire. ICQ is 84982692

Wow, quite a reply! Thank you everyone, it was nice to be acknowledged with such helpful posts. Very glad to hear that Chivalry does not restrict me from any of the guilds, as I've gotten it where I want it to be in my build and would hate dropping it... It does come in quite useful at times!

That being said, I will certainly roam around in hopes of meeting some of you to help me decide where to make my home. I also have a GM Blacksmith that I will most likely be transferring over from Napa Valley when I do get myself situated, so hopefully I will be able to aid in the realm of crafting as well once I brush his skills up some more with the new caps. He also has skills in carpentry, tailoring, and tinkering. Quite a useful guy to have around I think.

I've recently purchased myself a small house used from endless slaughter of Ettins in Despire, and I am currently slaughtering even more ettins so I can actually build some walls on the plot! Was pretty surprised to see I could actually find somewhere to fit a house. Hopefully I can move into somewhere bigger when I am able to afford it.

Well, I should be getting back to training my skills. Thank you all again for the great replies, and I will be getting in touch with many of you I am sure. Good hunting!

I'd suggest Monday Tavern Night or, if your into history, check out The Grand Britannian Reportory! With over 1,500 player written books it remains the largest library in Ultima Online and chronicles the RP community's history spanning over a decade. (it can be found right outside Zento, a few doors down from Goodman's)

Welcome back to the community *smiles* If you have any questions on rp, just ask. Some great folks around here that I'm sure will help you with your questions.
