After hearing about the Lich Lord's annoucement which ordered the execution of all members of the House of Skyfire and the conquering of Sanctus soil, Spawn ordered all his workers to flee his Sanctus office and head to the safety of his family home which was hidden in the Malas mountains. All the servants moved quickly packing all their belongings and making their way into the moongates which were being casted by those who were able. The only one who wasn't moving was Spawn himself, who stood on the balcony of his office watching his workers evacuate the structure as he pondered about the recent events such as the Lich Lord's "diktats", Cal Hurst's removal as Mayor of Moonglow, and GreyPawn's claim of the Moonglow Town Council. After a few moments, Darius, Spawn's son appeared onto the balcony from inside the study behind his father .

"Father, what is going on here? Why are all the workers leaving as if they are in fear of something?" Darius asked making his way closer towards Spawn. Spawn held out a folded piece of parchment behind him towards his son. "What is this?" asked Darius unfolding the parchment reading it over for a brief moment. The parchment was a letter from one of Spawn's acquaintances informing him of the Lich Lord's announcement in Britain. "Is this true father? Is the Lich Lord ordering the execution of all members of the Skyfire house?" Darius asked with a concerned look on his face.

"And the M'real household and also the claiming of all Sanctus land" Spawn said glancing over his shoulder towards Darius then back to the workers below him.

"But father, we are members of the Skyfire house are we not? We shouldn't stay here father! We will be killed" shouted Darius clenching his hands into fists clearly frightened for not only his life but the lives of his family members.

"You are not staying here Darius... You are going with the workers to our house and protect them as well as your mother" Spawn said still watching the workers leaving the structure one by one.

"I'm going to protect them? Me? What about you father?" Darius said before pausing for a brief moment: "You aren't coming with us are you father? You are going to stay here" said Darius letting out a deep long sigh. Spawn didn't say or do anything which would be all that Darius needed. The young Skyfire knew his father was going to remain here and possibly die. "Father, I know what you are going to do! I beg you father! Please reconsider and come with us! You will die if you remain here!" Darius said with a pleading look on his face.

"There is nothing to reconsider Darius. I shall stay here and greet the Lich Lord and his followers with my blade and magic" Spawn said glancing over his shoulder towards Darius again. "If he wants my head and houses, he is going to have to take me on to get them both" He said looking back towards the last of the workers who were going through the moongate towards his home in the Malas mountains.

"Then I will stay here and help you father!" Darius shouted raising a fist in front of him.

"No! No Darius... You are going home and you are going to protect our home" Spawn said turning himself to face his son

"But father! I can fig-!" Darius shouted stomping a foot onto the ground.

"No more discussion Darius! Now go..." Spawn shouted pointing towards the door leading inside the office. Darius just let out a soft sigh before turning on his foot towards the door that Spawn was pointing to.

"Father, I just want to say that I hope no harm comes to you" Darius said taking a quick glimpse over his shoulder towards Spawn. He was trying hard to hold back tears of saddness. Clearly he was upset that his father was going to stay and wait for the Lich Lord to come and also that he couldn't fight alongside his father. Spawn turned back towards the edge of the balcony looking out towards the buildings around him. "Father? What shall I tell mother?" Darius said standing at the door leading into his study waiting for his father's answer.

"Tell her that I love her and I'm doing what I must to protect my family" Spawn said folding his arms onto his chest. Darius sighed again before opening the door to enter the study. After making his way out of the office, Darius stood outside the huge structure looking up towards his father who was still standing on the balcony. Spawn glanced down at his son and gave him a small simple nod. After a few moments, Darius shook his head in disbelief before casting a gate for himself to the family house and entering it. Once he was at the house, Darius began to help the workers set up their belongings around the inside of the house.

"Alright Lich Lord, you want to execute every member of the Skyfire house... then come and get me" Spawn said looking towards the direction of Umbra rubbing his fingers of his right hand which he did before he casted his spells in combat. He would continue to stand on the balcony of his Sanctus structure and wait for terror that was coming to Sanctus. And if Spawn was going to be killed by the Lich Lord, then Spawnwas going to give the vile Lich Lord every once of fight he had in him.
