Renenutet’s hands trembled as she closed the door to her trophy room. Seeing Kelly and Ian in these new lands was not what she wanted to see. She had hope that it was a dream that Kelly had sent her Oona’s bloodied braid. Seeing them before her brought back a flood of memories and emotions. Anger had resurfaced quickly while in the dojo during the Lotus’ most recent event.

Renenutet griped the edge of the table and recalled how Kelly managed to brainwash her instructor Grey Ghostbuck back in the land of the Great Lake. He was NEVER the same after his “friendship” with her and even after Rene and Grey’s secret marriage, she was still an influence. In fact, Renenutet blamed Kelly indirectly for Grey’s suicide.

Renenutet twirled Oona’s braid in that she had woven into her hair while recalling the events of the night. Renenutet thought it would be a tribute to her fallen friends and leader. The braid had belonged to Oona’s love, Theophilius, which he had given to her. Oona had it interwoven into her hair. Rene recalled how it always managed to peek out from the underside of Oona’s hair, no matter how much she tried to hide it and tuck it under her duel braids. The hair color didn’t match from her hair to Theo’s. It always made Rene chuckle inside to see, but it had given Oona strength. Rene now hoped it would do the same for her.

Rene had finished up with some of the new applications from potential clan members. She tucked the paperwork into her desk and picked up the tests from the new Oshiegos. She wrinkled her nose not really in the mood to grade the most recent tests. So placing them back into the drawer, she remembered that the Soke was opening the dojo to host the weekly tavern night. She figure she would stroll over and observe.

Walking in, she sat herself down at the corner of the bar and ordered some sake. She chuckled to herself as it seemed sake was now her drink of choice. Something caught her eye as Leusi walked past to speak with Garrett. She narrowed her eyes to see two puncture sites on the inside of Leusi’s wrist. Rene knew the calling card of Kelly from seeing it on Grey’s neck. Her hand shook slightly and quickly drank on glass of sake to steady herself. Rene slowly turned her head only to find a familiar hood tossed back on the neckline of a redheaded woman talking to Bishimi.
“Hello Rene!” Micarlin called over to her, snapping Renenutet to attention.
“Hey Micarlin”
It was then that Renenutet was looking into a pair of familiar green eyes. Muscles tensed everywhere when Kelly walked over next to her and sat down and started talking to Rene in hushed tones.

“What’s wrong Rene?” Rene jumped at the voice that came from behind her. She turned to see Marvin leaning against the doorway with his arms folded across his chest. She forced a smile to her former instructor and mentor.
“Nothing Love just lost in my thoughts.”
Marvin crossed the room and looked down at her with a smirk. He knew she was hiding something.
“Uh huh, so tell me why there is nail grooves in the table?”

Rene looked down at the table where her hands were and saw the deep grooves. She sighed and started to tremble a little. Marvin wrapped his arms around her as she began to fill him in on everything that had happen since they arrived to this new land, and she even told him about the bracelet that she hid that binded her to the evil drow Nalimar. Rene felt Marvin’s muscles tense in anger and buried her head into his chest. She had this sinking feeling something bad was about to happen.
